Exactly what I needed and at a great price

Easy installation, no hassles, just what I needed. I'm using a Presonus StudioLive AI 16.4.2 deck but needed FireWire integration to use recording, RTA and other SMARTRT tools. Works great, no settings and conflicts.

Easy installs in ExpressCard slot

Texas Instruments driver is very good and easy to install but I'm switching to Blackmagic Intensity for little reason. :)

Worked well and tech support was very helpful

This device worked well most of the time. I had a problem installing the device and contacted tech support who was very helpful in solving the problem. Glory to them. This is probably the only remaining manufacturer of the Firewire Express Card.

Great little piece of hardware

Didn't like it much when it arrived but it worked flawlessly from the moment I plugged it in. it works as advertised. I really wish they had included an AC adapter instead of offering it as an option. I pushed my FireWire to the limit so power was on hand.

Ideal for transferring large amounts of files

Pros: This is the perfect product when you need to transfer lots of files like music. are on the move it doesn't work for me and the company didn't provide one but they were kind enough to let me know the specs of what I need which I buy at Radio Shack for $30. So keep away from PC with this device.

great idea: giblets

I've never looked for an express card (of any kind) for my laptop. I bought it because the firewire port in my laptop stopped working and needed it, but I had to wait for my laptop to be repaired. and it worked great. I couldn't connect my regular old Firewire cable to it, but the Firewire 800 cable was perfect
