Didn't really work.

I don't know if it was my computer, router or adapter, but my router keeps downloading the settings at 100Mbps instead of the 1Gbps it should handle. I tried changing the settings on both the computer and the router, but after about 30 minutes of use, particularly during boot, the router reset them back to the 100Mbps setting. I bought another brand that plugged into a USB 3.0 port and no problem with that. I downloaded quite a bit and it never reset me to 100Mbps. Now I have Startech on myโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Overheats and disconnects

The adapter overheats and starts disconnecting when not only used for normal web browsing. I'm having problems with the adapter with video conferencing traffic (10 Mbit/s). Threw it back in the box. As an alternative, consider the well-rated and recommended Revain Basics power adapter converted to USB-C.

Pros
  • Keeping my fists
Cons
  • For the old

Works best in network adapters

This works well for devices that require an ethernet adapter and have a USB-C port I have been able to use it successfully to connect an Android phone running Android 11 with no issues or need to connect in other software. This did NOT work on a phone running Android 10.

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • Frequency

Doesn't work with Surface 3

Installed Windows 10 drivers for US1GC30B (Realtek drivers) from their website. Surface does NOT recognize the device. The driver was searched for on the Internet and via Windows Update. Maybe the drivers are for an older version of Windows. Who knows, but I won't buy from manufacturers who don't support their drivers. Apparently they don't work with Microsoft either, or a newer driver might be included in a Windows update. Now it's a landfill. Don't waste your money if you have the latestโ€ฆ

Pros
  • USB network adapters
Cons
