Easy enough to install if you are comfortable with basic hand tools. Removing all of the body plastic and removing the airbox and associated hardware takes longer than actually removing and replacing the starter motor.

This starter was purchased 15 months ago and has failed and filled with oil the oil seal on the front bearing must have failed. The price was good, but only for 15 months is not very good. The original starter lasted 10 years and was simply worn out. I can't find a parts turntable anywhere to try and adjust the starter.

The starter works well, my only complaint is that the original had a hollow dowel pin and this one didn't. It's drilled to accept one if you want to remove and reuse the original (kind of a pain) but it's not drilled to the right size, the pin is a bit sloppy in the hole. It's functional, but it would be much better if they drilled the right size hole and put a tiny steel ring in it like a factory starter.

I ordered on Friday and paid for delivery on Saturday. Arrived before noon. Perfect delivery. It was just the right replacement. Ideal for assembling and opening the crankcase. The o-ring fits snugly in the hole, which is necessary to prevent leaks (I oiled it to make installation easier). connected the pin from the solenoid and lubricated it with dielectric grease. Started on first try. I've started about 10 times now so no long term review yet.
