Intermittent Air Conditioning Issue Fixed

My mom had an intermittent cold air conditioning issue in her 2009 Civic. She took it to a mechanic who recharged the system but she was still having problems. I read on 8thcivic that this is a possible solution for some people and figured $7 was cheap enough to try. That seems to have solved the problem!

OEM relay clutch fixed Odyssey A/C!

When the air conditioning suddenly stopped blowing cold air on our 2008 120,000 mile odyssey, I was concerned to take it to the dealer for diagnosis. Instead, I googled and read about a couple of instances where the fuse box mentioned a $10 relay clutch, so I ordered it, unplugged the original, and put the OEM part in. The AC has been cold for over 4 weeks now!

Easy installation and reasonable price!

I had an issue for a while with my air conditioner blowing cold then warm air on my 2009 Honda Civic. I found this relay under the hood of my car and touched it to engage the A/C compressor clutch. When I got the new relay and installed it, my AC has been blowing cold air ever since. I noticed that the old relay rattles when shaken. You have problems like me, that's probably the problem.

Pros
  • Part number
Cons
  • Minor repairability

Worked great! Best Parts

Our 2009 Honda Civic air conditioner blew mostly hot air, with a few seconds of cold air. Took it to the store, who charged $22 for the part, $20 for the labor, another $128 for pumping and refilling coolant, which they said was low, and another $50 for leak detection paint. I saw the exact same relay switch they recommended here for $8, saw on YouTube that it was easy to install and worked for others, and decided to give it a try. Lo and behold, it worked great! Now the A/C blows cold air all…
