I apparently ordered this starter because of the great price and decent reviews. I had no luck with this starter however, I put it in and everything worked for about a week and then it stopped working, apparently the bendix wasn't coming loose so I was trying to save money but all it did, was a waste of time and that was all i had to buy yet another starter. (Well the person I sold the jeep to did)

I waited a month before writing a review for the starter I bought. I have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee Classic with a 4.0 straight-six. I installed a new starter on 10/09/2018 and had no problems whatsoever. It worked every time I turned the ignition key to the start position! I plan to update this review every month for six months. I don't give it 5 stars for only a month of service!

Well this item was ordered from me 14 days before it arrived. Since it is a starter, it is an important item. I thought it would be about 5 days before I showed up, boy was wrong. I was so excited to see my item finally arrived so I could use my car. I'm opening the box to find someone else's used core! Please note the item has been advertised as 'New' and no core is required. I guess I have to wait 14 more days and just hope I don't get someone else's junk.

Only run a few times so far and it should spin 2 times faster than the original, very impressive. Will update again if there are any problems, but so far so good. To update! The first day went well, after about ten starts it didn't work, I had to tap it with a hammer, after that it caught fire again. It does this since you never know when it will or won't start, but luckily after rapping it starts every time. I have ordered TYC-1-17749 and will be returning it as soon as it arrives.

Easy install on a 1999 TJ Jeep, everything fitted and fitted perfectly. .This solved the problems I was having and the car started straight away. The cost was about half what I would have to pay for a rebuilt block at an auto parts store and its new. I can't say how it will hold up yet, but I don't see any problems and it seems to be of good quality.

Fits perfectly, took minutes to install - couldn't be easier. My GC barely turned when hot, even though the battery was new and there were no problems with the electronics. If you're looking for an entry-level "green" style, you'll be disappointed - not green! Apparently made in Russia, but everything seems fine. Good value - Rock Auto has the same starter for $75 plus shipping. The fit is good - there are no issues with the insides. After 2 days from the start it works perfectly. As mentioned, look no further. I installed this in my 1999 Cherokee in under an hour and am a weekend mechanic at best. Watch the video on YouTube and read others' comments while installing. Remove a bolt, a nut from the positive terminal on the starter and 2 bolts (14 and 15mm) and it pops right out. It was exactly the same as the one I took. I didn't even have to jack up the jeep.
