Seems to be an OEM for my Yamaha?

Replaced the original starter (roasted!) in my Yamaha 550 Grizzly. The slip fits without any problems. Does it look like the original starter?

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Something different

Great for the money

Good for the money my starter relay buzzed and clicked and I replaced it with this starter as a test dummy and it worked great. I assume my bushings have given up in my old one. 2013 grizzly 700fi 4x4

  • This is great
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Perfect for motorcycles and powersports

Perfect for 2012 Yamaha Grizzly. After replacing the battery and starter magneto, my starter still turned slowly but it had over 12 volts so I decided to replace it. Now it runs great and starts immediately. It's only been two weeks, let's see how it goes in winter.

Great replacement for the 2016 Yamaha Kodiak 700

It's hard to believe that after only 400 miles on the quad the starter failed. But after a year of unreliable starting (cold or hot) and another new battery, I finally determined it was the starter motor. I was able to install by removing the air filter box and going in from the top (didn't even have to remove the plastic). I can say that the starting brand is the same as the OEM I removed (Mitsuba) and at a much better price than elsewhere. After installing it on a 2016 Kodiak 700 (708) it…

Works with minimal effort

This starter has just been installed on a 2016 Yamaha Kodiak. All the damaged magnets fell out of the case when the factory starter was disassembled so I wasn't that keen on going back to a genuine Yamaha part and it was less than 50% the cost. Time will tell how he holds up. I had to readjust the terminal guard, which required removing the starter again, but I didn't give it a star for that because I had to fix that before installation and that alignment would depend on the application. . He…

The starter fits perfectly.

A 2018 Yamaha Kodiak 700 had a factory starter that worked after 40 hours and finally stopped working after 80 hours. Like many others, after disassembling the original starter, I found that the magnets inside had completely dissolved. This replacement starter fitted perfectly and now the engine turns faster than when new. I would give 5 stars if I knew more about durability. You do NOT need to remove the exhaust or airbox to replace the starter. Remove the upper panel around the glove box and…
