Sturdy, cute, hiking boots but.

Pros: Sturdy, cute, look durable, great tread, wide toe bed, no pinching.Cons: So so not a cushy footbed, quite the opposite! I am disappointed. I prefer a softer footbed. Also they have a rather stiff upper that will take time to break in. Lastly the tongues of boots are bulky and not attached high enough on the boots. I prefer tongues that are thinner, not quite as bulky, and attached to the boot on both sides further up so they don't wander and to stop water, seeds or dirt from entering.

Pros
  • The boots' waterproof technology doesn't sacrifice breathability
Cons
  • Lacks flexibility for natural movement

i really want these to be long haul boots

I usually wear Merrell mids on weekend hikes but i wanted both a backup pair and a pair that seemed more likely to hold up. Enter Keen. the toe to heel fit well and during my 2 weeks of wearing to work, walking on flat surfaces, all good! the first time i wore them to walk up a hill, not so good. the ankle (collar?) really presses into my ankles until i'm ready to toss them over a cliff and just walk home barefoot.I am determined tho, wearing again today with thicker socks. Hoping i can break…

Pros
  • The leather upper provides durability and protection against the elements
Cons
  • Can be noisy during wear

Not the sturdiness I would expect from KEEN

I bought a pair of KEEN sandals in 2009 which are still good to this day. I bought these boots in Nov 2020, and started heavily using them late winter. They starting to fall apart after less than one season of use. I am a farmer and needed some comfortable, sturdy shoes to work in. These have been very comfortable, waterproof, have good traction, BUT not sure how much longer they will last. The fronts are very worn and separating from the protective front bumpers. For $150 I expected much more.

Pros
  • The boots come in a variety of stylish colors to choose from
Cons
  • Can rub against the heel

Order half size up.

I read a bunch of reviews before I ordered these. Some of the reviews said to order a half size up. And the were correct. I usually wear a size 9. Ordered a size 9.5, love the extra toe space (width) , plus the length is perfect even with extra heavy socks. I have neuropathy in both legs and like a little extra "wiggle” room, but still feel like the boot is giving me the support and protection I need during hiking. Great boots, got light or heavy serious hikers.

Pros
  • The outsole has excellent grip, making it easier to navigate slippery terrain
Cons
  • Not warm enough in colder weather

They feel great and supportive, true to size for me

I was so surprised how comfy out of the box! Plenty of toe room and my normal size 7 was a perfect fit. A little stiff but still comfortable and I'm sure they'll soften with time. I feel very secure with the grip of the sole. Took a chance on an Best Buy warehouse purchase with this pair but they arrived in perfect, unused condition in the box and got such a great price on them but I was ready to order at full price too.

Pros
  • These boots are designed specifically for women, so you can trust they'll fit perfectly
Cons
  • Not suitable for off-roading

Worth the $$— Glad I finally got em!

I’ve wanted these hiking boots for a few years. Finally ordered them! They are warm & supportive. Fit as size is expected. Wish for more arch support as I have flat feet. I love the ever so slight ankle support as I walk my dogs around the country past

Pros
  • See above
Cons
  • Bulky and heavy

Uncomfortable, hurt feet

I wore these the first time to hike in the snow and I had crampons on, they felt fine and I had no problem with the shoes until the crampons were off and my toes were hurting. I then wore it again a second time and I was immediately able to feel every rock I stepped on because the insole of the shoe was very thin and uncomfortable on my feet, it felt very hard. I did really like the shoes but they hurt my feet when walking in a short amount of time.

Pros
  • The rubber toe cap provides added protection for your toes
Cons
  • Narrow fit too tight

Beyond Pleased With These Boots!

I bought these for my hiking trips in Iceland and these boots were amazing! They kept my feet warm and dry when hiking through cold waterfalls, but they never became too hot. I loved how much traction they had and they were super comfortable to wear no matter the occasion. I even went running in them a couple times and they offered great support. The best thing about these boots is that they’re super lightweight for hiking boots, so they don’t feel heavy on my feet. I could easily wear them all

Pros
  • They're lightweight and won't weigh you down on long hikes
Cons
  • Lacks flexibility

I love all things Keen!

I own numerous pairs of keen shoes, boots and sandals and I typically wear a women’s 9. With the boots I usually purchase up a 1/2 size to accommodate a thicker sock, but with these, I needed a 10. The 9 1/2’s were just a bit tight and will be going back - I’m glad the 10 was available!

Pros
  • Outdoor
Cons
  • Too stiff for comfortable walking

Keens are great! best in my review

I have been wearing Keen Targhee II's for many years and decided to try the III's. While they are still very comfortable right off the bat, they seem to be a little more narrow than the II's. I even got a half size larger. But I am keeping them because they are not causing pain and have all the other great qualities that Keen boots have.

Pros
  • The boots have a supportive arch, which helps prevent foot pain
Cons
  • Soles can become worn quickly

Warm & waterproof. on my review.

I really like Keen sandals which is why i bought this boot. I'm not a hiker but i have foot, ankle and back problems and need stability and the sandals are always great. I've also worn Keen maryjane style shoes which i love and still have some older mj style shoes they no longer make. I needed a waterproof boot with arch support. I kept these even though i had IMMEDIATE pain from the top of the boot above my ankles. My solution was to simply not lace the boot at the top so that it's loose and…

Pros
  • They're flexible and allow for natural foot movement
Cons
  • Fixed tongue makes it difficult to adjust

Targhee 3 - Very strange fit

I have always found Keens to have a great fit, as they run true to size in every style I've tried - except this one!I bought my usual 9.5 and it is at least a half size, if not a full size, too small. It also feels very odd on my foot, as if it is "pushing" my foot outwards. This is not a typical high arch fit, but instead it somehow seemed to tilt me the wrong way. I wasn't able to wear it for more than a few minutes, and I decided that even if I exchanged for a larger size it didn't seem like

Pros
  • The boots have a higher cut, which prevents debris from getting into your socks
Cons
  • Not suitable for wider feet

Perfect hiking boot!

These were perfect out of the box and onto a 6 mile hike. I did wear them one afternoon around the house but otherwise, get yourself a quality sock and you’ll be on the trails in no time without blisters!

Pros
  • Always like these Keen boots. Comfortable and last.
Cons
  • Poor color options

Reliable & Comfortable

I was a little apprehensive about spending so much on a pair of boots online, but after trying them on in store prior I knew these would be perfect. I broke them in on an intense scramble hike, and came out the other side confident about my purchase and even more importantly pain & injury free! These are worth the investment 100%.

Pros
  • These hiking boots are so comfortable! I am so pleased with this purchase!
Cons
  • Not durable enough

Overrated! in my review

Purchased for hiking in Alaska, it is my second pair of Keens. They are a a bit heavy, rub on my ankle bone and not all that comfortable.

Pros
  • The breathable mesh lining ensures your feet don't get too hot or sweaty
Cons
  • Poor ventilation

Good Shoes, Bad Quality Control

Good grip, I like the sole really much, but have to return this because of the sewing defect shown in the photo, which rubs against the upper part of my ankle. I bought shoes of this same style then to avoid the sewing defect, but the shoes arrived with some minor defect in shoelaces as well. I am in need of good shoes for the coming winter, so I will just keep that since it is wearable. But for a $150 shoes or boots, I would expect better quality control. Disappointed. I will look for another…

Pros
  • Women
Cons
  • Not suitable for long distances

Very pleased! best in my review

Purchased these boots for a Fall hiking trip in Stowe, VT. VERY PLEASED. I tried on 4 different brands/6 different styles &this was by far the most comfortable AND supportive. *NOTE: The traction on the sole is not very deep so not appropriate for technical hiking.

Pros
  • February 1, 2018
Cons
  • Limted cushioning
