It seems like a wider point would probably fit, but a narrower point would prevent it from reaching the end of the filter.

This tool is perfect for removing/installing oil filters on my 2019 Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC. It has a slim/low profile that keeps the oil filter secure in very tight or tight spaces. I haven't owned this tool long enough to comment on the durability of the coating or the tool itself, but I have no reason to believe that regular use will affect either.

I purchased this oil filter cap removal tool for a unique cap puller used on 2.5 liter 4 cylinder Ford/Mazda engines. Got the part and did a test install on my neighbor's car that I'm helping out with an oil change at the service to save them a few bucks. The tool fits snugly against the filter cover and does not sag. I'll be changing the oil and doing a live assessment soon, but I'm sure everything will be fine. My other tools lay loose on the removable lid; this one is tight.

Install an oil cap wrench on my 2007 Ford Fusion I was told. Worked on first use, although the oil cap got stuck there (perhaps not a perfect fit?) which took some work to get it out. for long term use but as I will only be using it on my one car it should last long enough to stay on the road for a few more years. reevaluate and maybe get a new one if it lasts long.
