Not for daily use

I'm a mechanic and have been using it daily for about two weeks and the ball joint on the pivot end broke after just a few weeks of use. Maybe ok for occasional hobby use, but not suitable for professional use.

Steelman Swivel Extensions

Good Swivel Extensions! I bought 12, 24 and 36 inch. I have previously purchased a set of metric 9" 3/8 drive swivel extensions and they are worth every penny. Needless to say, I've become a huge Steelman fan! Buy it! You will not regret it!

Pros
  • Good to Use
Cons
  • High Price

Great item in the power and hand tool section

This extension is the perfect length for accessing hard to reach bell housing or torque converter bolts. The hinge at the end looks flimsy but so far it's holding up if it does after a few jobs on the gearbox it will be worth buying but so far it's been great

Pros
  • Nice item
Cons
  • Expensive

A good tool, but there are some design flaws.

This is a very good tool kit, it will get you into tight corners, but the swivel head broke me a few times. I was lucky enough to put everything together until next time, only 3 stars for that reason. It can also be very dangerous if parts are flying all over the place. Use safety goggles!

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Some difficulty

Long reach with exceptional strength

Bought this tool to get at some very difficult gear bolts. The stack extensions had lost a lot of power when they reached the bolts. Add a swirl and prying them out was impossible. This tool managed to apply maximum torque to the shaft and pull out the bolts.

  • Free for educational purposes

Buy one with no swivel

Bought a Steelman Pro 1/2" drive, 3/8" pinless hitch extension for my husband in October 2019, he's used it a total of 8 times. Today was the last time he could use it; Swivel broken. He told me when I first gave it to him that he would have preferred it without the swirl because he didn't think it would be long.

Bad buy again, mine is worn out

Large truck transmission tool with 8 or more broaches and installations. I think it's about to break. The cost of using it is great. by design it wears out quickly when working with a power tool, but fewer adapters mean more tightening torque. If it makes you money, it's cheap enough to buy again. Just try. M18 1/2' high torque pistol is what it was used with.

Pros
  • Torque wrench
Cons
  • Not sure

Big! I just wish the sockets were on pins and not balls.

Very useful for lower bell bolts and turbine flanges. However, there should definitely be a retaining pin for the socket on the swivel. The ball retainer is too weak and the bushings can fly out immediately if you slip off the breech. A pin lock would be much more secure. The joint itself feels a bit sloppy/dirty/medium quality, time will tell how long it lasts, but it works if you need it for awkward jobs.

Saved My Bacon - Power & Hand Tools

Repaired a power steering gear for an LX450 and was on a tight schedule. The line fittings were frozen, I broke the 17mm box wrench I had. Went down the road to Lowe, took the Cobalt and bent it to the point that it was afraid of rounding the fitting. Went online and ordered a set of Neiko ring wrenches and this extender/oscillation/reducer. Drowned the fittings for the high and low lines in the PB blaster while waiting for the tools to arrive. When they arrived they put the goose foot on the…
