High quality paper - art paper

Nice packaging. Good paper quality. It is very white in color and has a smooth texture. Easily pigmentable with colored pencil, even with a smooth texture.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • old

Fine quality

This is a very good magazine. I bought it for my niece and I liked it so much that I bought another one. The paper is nice and thick, but absolutely smooth. I used to work for a big magazine, Dylusions, and while the quality was good, I liked the smaller format and fewer pages. This is a very high quality magazine. in manageable quantity.

Pros
  • PREMIUM QUALITY. Exceptional features make Stillman & Birn albums a popular choice for artists of all levels.
Cons
  • Socket required

I found my sketchbook!

I've tried millions of different sketchbooks looking for the "one" that suits me and I think this is it. The paper is 270gsm so I can use markers, paint or ink without running. It lies flat and creates a large horizontal spread of square sides. The sides are white and very smooth. Not as smooth as a Bristol board, but very, very close. Drawing/writing/painting in this sketchbook is a pleasure.

Pros
  • MADE FOR MIXED PRODUCTS: Double sized (non-animal derived) for increased wet strength and lustrous colour.
Cons
  • A little torn

Stillman and Byrne albums are the best on the market today.

As a professional artist, I've tried most sketchbooks. So in my opinion these are the best sketchbooks out there. The paper used is second to none. I can open them flat to work across the slide on either sheet with no binding issues. Will it make you a better artist? Pfff, of course not. But they will be there long after we are gone, like all your hard work. Go ahead and give yourself the best and see what you can create.

Pros
  • HEAVY HEAVY: Withstands advanced wet media technology. Excellent for detailed pen and ink work in combination with a wide use of watercolor. A favorite of botanical artists and illustrators.
Cons
  • Some bugs
