    I love this sketchbook

    Oh my god I love this sketchbook. I love how it lays flat for two page sketches and I love the feel of the paper and the cover. No matter what medium, pencil, ink, watercolour, he takes it wonderfully.

    Excellent paper, excellent binding, all in order

    Bought several of these and filled them. They are surprisingly large and easy to pack, and the quality of the paper is excellent, at least for drawing, gouache, and ink. The binding is very good and despite the fact that I used them with some effort (back) they have held up very well. Fully recommended.

    I bought it to use with crayons.

    This sketchbook is very well designed. It is durable and has a medium grip for pencils. Some of my colored pencils show through. I've tried markers and they shine through. The ballpoint pen worked well, as did regular graphite pencils or charcoal. The charcoal must be separated by an intermediate side. I haven't tried gel pens yet. For some media I would suggest heavier paper but the quality of their output is very good.

    Definitely a keeper

    Received a few days ago. I've just started painting with pen and ink/watercolor. I used my old college sketchbook years ago and got frustrated with the toilet app. I wanted something I could draw and use without having to switch sketchbooks. White paper with teeth. Lay's is flat and more flexible than hardcover. I've tried a few toilet sketches and am pretty happy with how it's handled so far. Also bought Beta and Zeta to try and will check once I get it and try it.

    Small, light but with durable paper that you can draw on with ink and watercolors.

    I use an A6 album or a small portrait alpha album, it has many pages and the paper is thick enough to work with ink and watercolors. I really like the white paper - the colors on it are right. The small size is easy to carry, and with a bulldog clip and ponytail tie to keep it open or closed while I'm painting in my purse, it's incredibly handy.

    Perfect size for travel journals

    I think Stillman & Birn magazines are one of the best brands of sketchbook journals. Moleskine is good too. I've tried many brands and the Stillman & Birn Alpha Series is one of the best I've used, but everyone has their own favorites. The paper is bright white and heavy enough to withstand a light wash, and the lightweight cover makes it ideal for quick sketches on the go. The paper is smooth but not as smooth as hot press paper.     Unbeatable value for money for professionals and beginners

    Paperback use A5 size - The paper is thin enough and enough not to be "precious" and you don't have to worry about wasting space make. But thick and strong enough not to leak through the sides. This sketchbook can easily withstand a lot of abuse. Works well with pen, pencil, permanent marker and watercolour/gouache. Removes multiple wet and dry layers like a champ. A few coats of wet paint will cause the page to crease a little on the back, but never show through or cause a problem. (Although…

    My last sketchbook was a 500 series mixed media hardcover of the same format. I decided to try this album because I wanted something lighter but still thick enough paper for watercolor and mixed media. The paperback took a little getting used to, especially the first few pages for left-handers, as the sketchbook cover doesn't offer any real support or stability.
