Great for metallic watercolor calligraphy

Excellent quality, durable and ideal for metallic watercolor calligraphy and brush markers or gel pens writing on black paper. It's a cold pressed paper that I've been told is great for watercolor calligraphy. This is one that I highly recommend in my research and I recommend it too!

Pros
  • Turn negatives into positives with light
Cons
  • A few little touches

The paper is not as stable as white watercolor paper.

Paper for watercolor. But very fragile. Typically, watercolor artists tape their paper to the board to control warping and provide a stable, moving surface to paint on. Whatever you do, the top layer of this paper will peel off along with the tape. In fact, you have to be very careful to make sure you only remove the part that is under the tape. Otherwise, it just strips off most of the top layer. Although the paper is thick, it is soft and relatively spongy to the touch.

Pros
  • First paper 100% black cotton sized for watercolor
Cons
  • Without automatic printing

What a fun surface, brain challenge

I love painting portraits and other things on this beautiful, durable black watercolor paper. It's a lot of fun to draw on and gives a very dramatic ethereal look. Gouache, acrylic paints, or white (or lighter) Artgraf water-soluble charcoal that I've been playing with would probably work best. You probably won't want to use transparent colors with this dark paper, and you'll probably want to use light colors that can contrast with the black. This is a high quality archival paper created for…

Pros
