Revain sent me a fake

Beware, there are many fakes for sale. I didn't have ten touch programming. There was no high, low, strobe. Mine was sold and shipped by Revain

Beware of Fakes!: Flashlights

Fake Streamlight 88059 Pro Tac Rail Mount. The rubber on the back of the switch was very thin. Had the correct red o-ring and gold spring in the back cover. NO spring in the front of the battery tube! It means FAKE. The spring is needed to withstand the recoil of a real firearm. Additionally, the tail cap switch failed on about the 10th use. No longer snaps, only momentarily. This cheap Chinese fake must stop Revane!

Reliability is best when it comes to safety and security

I am a regional SWAT operative and purchased this light for my specific SWAT rifle. Upon arrival the light seemed perfect. Bright clean light with desired mounting kit. I hooked up a flashlight to my rifle and the problems started with my first practice. I pressed the push pad with no response. I replaced the batteries with no solution. The problem continued and I could only get the flash out of the fixture when I hit it from the side, but I couldn't turn it on consistently. I was playing with…

Fake junk in flashlights

I wore the Streamlight ProTac 1L-1AA every day for about a year until it landed on the bottom of a Florida cove. I was very familiar with the feel and function of this little flashlight and loved it, so I immediately set out to buy a new one. I searched several stores without success and then came across this one at Revain. As dawn broke, I knew immediately that I had been caught. This light is much lighter than the real ProTac. The "Ten Tap" feature is also missing. This light has 3 modes…

Better than Trusty Fire because you're not a commando

The only reason Trusty Fire can command such a high price is that people are willing to pay insane prices for anything a military contract because of the prestige implied and the feeling that they get the RIGA game as their preferred DELTA operator. Anyone familiar with military contracts knows that those who pay the most don't get a contract. Often the combination of cheap and reliable is enough, but not always in this case either. Surefire is not the best light maker. Of course, these are…

Amazing tactical light. Mediocre mounting options

I bought the HL-X. Installed it on the right side of my 10.5" pistol at a 90° angle. Very bright. The programming is a great feature, I chose low/high. runs on a monolithic top rail) you're pretty stuck with the included rubber mounts or 3M tape which isn't really an option. The rubber mounts have front to back play which sucks for a $100 flashlight. The front derailleur has two small holes to attach it to a wooden or screw plastic foregrip. My particular handguard only has 5 rails on the ends on

Pros
  • Nice touch
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

FAKE STREAMLIGHT: 2 out of 5 lights.

This is a really good light if you buy a real Streamlight. 3 settings: Hi, Strobe and Low. It's bright enough to light up my roughly 100 foot yard with ease. Small enough that it barely protrudes from my clenched fist when holding it, enough to use as a bludgeoning weapon when needed. Great for EDC. The clip is key - allows you to attach the visor to the cap. Problem: I have now bought 5 of these. Two of them: accidentally they did not turn on when working, did not shine brightly and made a…

Light GOOD / Switch mount on strap POOR

All the hype and marketing from other flashlight manufacturers aside, this Streamlight HLX is the best long gun flashlight in this price range and features. Point Why. Pay. More? Lightweight: 10-touch options and programmable features are a win. I prefer low/high settings. This light is brighter AF at High. The low setting is great for indoor and workout sessions. Ribbon Switcher: I personally really like the instant ribbon and always-on button option. That's definitely a win. Picatinny mount…

dueling fuel? More like 5 types of fuel!

Updated 5/2021. Still use all kinds of batteries in the light and it works fine. I've had other lights that I prefer, but this little guy pops up in the rotation from time to time. ******* This is a great flashlight for several reasons. I keep one in all CR123 cars as a last resort. They only work when you need them. Nice and small, also to take with me or in my briefcase. Requires at least 5 different battery types that I've found so far. I know Streamlight specifically says not to use Rcr123a
