Attractive design and easy installation

This gasket is designed to provide years of sealing. It has extra height so you will need to make some modifications to your garage door closer. Don't close the garage too tight at first. Leave enough room for the gasket to fit snugly without pinching. As a result, the seal remains flexible and can remain tight for many years. Second, you need to adjust the downforce on the closer. Since the seal is much taller than your worn seal, you will likely hit the downforce limit when reversing and the…

Ignore the nonsense in many reviews

I read reviews before buying and after buying and installing I want to give my opinion. First, the length listed is accurate. So if you need a 16 foot gasket, order the 16 foot gasket. I read many reviews saying the length was inaccurate and you need to order the next size up. I ended up having just over 4 extra feet (and additional expense) for my door. Next, you cannot lengthen it by stretching it. Yes, it's expanding a little, but it won't stay that way forever. Finally, hanging it next to…

Great product - Bad instructions - Read this for installation tips

I've read the negative reviews here about the difficulty of the installation and I'll share some tips that aren't mentioned in the instructions. In fact, reading the negative reviews helped me come up with a plan that makes installation fairly easy: 1. Don't cut the gasket to length prematurely. After threading the seal through the bottom guide, it's no longer the same size as it was when you started. cut after installation.2. Measure your T channels carefully before ordering. If you order the…

Installation tips not included

Probably the best sealer on the market but installation was a hassle you know what. There were no instructions included. I tried the soapy water trick but it didn't work very well, it just wouldn't slide on the track, then I tried spraying WD 40 on the track to make it slide better but I still couldn't get it to do it , on the track to slip track. I almost gave up and tinted it in the trash when I discovered the trick to installing this thing. After you got it working on the track, I started on

Buy longer than you need - don't fall behind, fall out of line

I was almost 16 feet actually 15 feet-10 inches. Remember that when you stretch the rubber, it stretches. install it. Mine expanded to 16 feet after installation. I would definitely do what others have suggested and order at least 6 inches more than necessary to make sure it will fit. Lubricate the track and DO NOT use WD40 as it's a solvent that will melt the rubber) and it's not too hard if you have two people. But I think the center round gasket/cushion in the gasket adds weight at the point
