Description of 📻 Stryker SR-955hpc: Unleashing Power in Amateur Radio Communication!

High power: Uses four FQP13N10 MOSFETs that produce over 70W PEP. Brilliant 7 color LED backlit faceplate (choose from 7 colors w/ push of a button or let CPU controller scan through all colors on its own). Dimmer control (32 positions), advanced clarifier, Band/VFO, PC programmable, variable power control; variable talkback control; Digital Echo with dual front-mounted controls; Six Roger beeps. Up-armored receiver: exclusive receiver protection works under the harshest conditions (e.g. at a truck stop with many high-powered radios nearby). Receiver filtering is tighter than most radios on the market for superior adjacent channel rejection. This is a 10 meter radio, not an 11 meter (Citizens Band) radio.

Uses surface mount parts for improved reliability.

Likes good reception, Has a nice display. Transmits well with good modulation. Has 10 ranges of 40 channels. Inside are surface mount parts to improve reliability and performance. The frequency counter counts up to 100 cycles. The radio scans 40 channels on each band and you can block channels you don't want to scan.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Impressive radio, you won't be disappointed!

Great radio! Very impressive. Sensitive reception, standard mic is perfect, 11m mod is easy, lots of programmable pc options like under/over voltage protection and you can even set an alarm for bad users! It's like a radio amateur connected to a CB trucker and it's their beloved child! I liked it so much I will be buying a few more for my other cars!

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Some problems

Great radio for CB radios and scanners

This is a loud radio and gets compliments all the time. People often ask what radio I'm on. Then say how great it sounds, clearer than talking on the phone. I previously had a Galaxy 99V and drifted to SSB, but this one works reliably. Line up and go. He never moves. The garbled color of the display can be adjusted to match the interior of your phone. And the settings can be configured with a PC.

  • Satisfied so far
Cons

Great talking radio Radio Radio Pause Pause Pause. got this last night, did the conversion in 32 seconds, put the cap back on and booted it up. It takes about 1 hour to get used to all the controls. and set everything up. The software worked after I got the driver file from another website so Windows 7 64-bit sees the USB port as a COM port. plugged in the street devil's microphone and off we went. 18 miles from base to bad. talked about the 38 and 37 lsb skipload today Negative: IT'S WRAPPED…

Can't find anything I don't like about this radio. sounds great and looks good too. What impressed me the most was how good it looked in my scope. especially with the last MOSFET section. If you want to buy it, just do it. You will not be disappointed. I think the Stryker is checking the radios there for offset voltage and frequency compensation as mine isn't working. I was very dissatisfied with Galaxy and Ranger last year. Everyone out there involved with these radios doesn't care and they…

Came with no sound.

Out of the box, this unit was quiet even with the noise-cancelling turned off and the volume turned up. The bottom cover has been removed. The speaker cable came loose at the solder joint. I soldered it back and checked the radio for now. Looks like they connected the speaker so tightly that it broke during some sort of last minute inspection, or it was a return due to an audio issue. Everything looks new. The box only came in the original packaging, but the box was intact. Will be updated…

Excellent radio. I had to set up the transmitter afterwards.

Excellent radio. I had to set up the transmitter after I received it. Peak and tuning are now 20 watts RMS and about 95 watts peak. It came with a connecting cable but after downloading the software from Stryker I found that the software isn't very good, Roger's horn preview doesn't play the tones like the radio so it's very difficult to get the tone and the Difficult to change duration. Overall this is very good sound quality for a top end radio and has plenty of modulation when properly…

Faulty transceiver trying to fix problem with Stryker. [Returned to Revain]

The radio arrived with a defective channel selector (encoder) that intermittently skipped, skipped and would not change channels or bands. The radio reception was weak. Just 2 days later I received an RMA from Stryker and had to send it to a CB shop about 500 miles away at my own expense. Stryker's staff quickly issued an RMA, but there was no estimated repair time. Given the two issues I had with the radio right out of the box, how could I even recommend this radio. The response from Stryker…
