🔒 Enhanced Fuel Tank Cap for Subaru: 42031 AE02A Review

My 2004 Subaru Outback issued AP code 420. Check engine light on with flashing cruise control that no longer works. I called the dealer. They wanted 30.00 for this gas cap. I found this one for half price, deleted the code and it's been working ever since.

This should have been an OEM gas cap. The Check Engine light comes on with a fuel cap error code. The local mechanic said this sometimes happens with new gas caps. The Original Equipment gas cap has the ability to properly install the gasket at the time of shipment to the dealer. They said to tighten a few times after refueling for a few full tanks. The problem should resolve itself. I don't know if that's true, but it sounded reasonable. Have upgraded the rating accordingly.
