Description of Keep Your Snowy Stairs Safe & Snow-Free: Summerstep Home SM11x30C-RES Residential Heated Stair Mat (Black)

Comes with a peace of mind 1-year warranty. Will melt approximately 2 inches of snow per hour when operating. Affordable to operate; usually costs less than 2 dollars per snow day. Safer and more convenient than shoveling snow or using deicing salt. Requires one (SMPC) 120-volt GFCI power unit to connect the snow mat(s) to an electrical outlet. Our Summerstep (SMPC) 120-volt GFCI power units are sold separately and available here on Amazon.

great but. the best build materials

they're good except they don't come with a socket adapter. I expected them to be ready to go, but they can't be wall mounted without an adapter, which costs another $40 or so.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Advertising is misleading

I ordered a summer step. In the ad it looked like I was getting a full set of three tiers plus a large base. When the goods arrived, it was just one step. Not happy at all.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • piggy bank crazy price

The power cord is not included!

Selling something that is powered and doesn't come with a power cord is bullshit. The price is high enough that you need to buy a cable at an inflated price or it will be useless. I didn't realize the power cord wasn't included. Now I have to order it and wait a little longer

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • No instructions

Melting snow, water accumulation, ice formation

I would not recommend these mats for heated stairs. The snow melts in the middle of the mat, but ice forms around the edges, increasing the risk of slipping when there is nothing on the steps. Eventually, the accumulated water overflows and freezes on the edges of the steps. You are a farce.

Pros
  • Great for me

Heavy weight, non-slip! Ideal for heating and melting snow/ice.

I was a bit apprehensive about some of the previous reviews but these rugs are great. Nice heavy tire. Strong waterproof connections, easy to install. Heating works perfectly. We've had a constant problem with ice building up on our steps, but now the ice is melting and the water is drying up quickly. I connected it to a smart socket so I can turn it on with my phone when I need it, even when I'm not at home and it's snowing. The stairs are now clean and safe for us and our guests and even for…

Great product with quality issues

I bought 2 of these mats and a power pack. The system worked fine for 3-4 days, then the circuit breaker, which is an integral part of the power cord, constantly opened and stayed on for no more than 10 seconds. Other customer reviews showed that this error is common and you need to isolate the mat that is causing the problem. Since I had 2 it was easy to do (assuming I didn't have 2 fancy rugs). Revain will replace a defective mat and I will try the system again. Works well when it works.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

It saved us - building materials

update. January 2021. One of the step heaters stopped working. It continues to send power to the other two stage heaters. I'm a little disappointed that it lasted less than two seasons. These stair heaters have worked really well for us on some new wood steps. Since our garage is not attached we use the side steps to come and go and the new wood was very slippery when wet/frozen. I plugged it into an outdoor WiFi outlet and was able to turn it on and off with both Alexa and my phone (especially

Summerstep is an absolute win!

Summer Step Mats have been a lifesaver for my family. I've struggled with snow removal for many years. My back hurts and I can't stand long without excruciating pain, let alone shoveling snow in the winter. I studied them for a while and what really helped me finally make the investment was a visit from my parents that ended with my mother slipping on the ice on my stairs and injuring herself. Since using Summer Step mats, we haven't had a single problem clearing snow or dangerous ice. I have…
