Easy peasy - my new review

These were great. I wanted to reroute some lines and the easiest thing was to snip off two pex branches and cap them and it literally took 10 seconds to install each one. No leaks.

Pros
  • Worked great to terminate a tub connection under a subfloor. A+
Cons
  • The two-pack quantity offered by this product may not be enough for larger plumbing projects, requiring multiple purchases and further increasing costs

Wanted to cap my pex A pipe for testing and something that is easy to reuse

I bought both the 3/4 and 1/2 versions of these to use as test caps for my PEX A expansion piping project. The advantage of using the push to connect is that you can reuse these and they don't require a lot of effort to remove compared to a crimp or expansion plug.

Pros
  • These fittings work like a charm and are half the money of similar name brand components.
Cons
  • While the push-to-connect feature of this end cap is meant to make installation easier, it can actually make it more difficult for those who are inexperienced with plumbing

As advertised good for me

Needed to disconnect water service to my master bathroom while doing some remodeling and these end caps fill the bill. Current supply lines are CPVC (which will be replaced with PEX ultimately); I cut the supply lines with a tubing cutter and snapped these fittings on -- no worries about water in the lines interfering with glue-up or extra cure time in cold weather before re-pressurizing the lines. Water was back on to the rest of the house in 5 minutes (not including crawling under the house…

  • Despite being marketed as a push fit product, some users have reported difficulties getting the end cap to securely attach to their plumbing materials

Works grear - my new review

I used one of the caps to temporarily shutoff a toilet supply after I removed the valve and till I put a new one in. For a couple of days it held without any leaks before I removed it.As some plumbers advise, I put a little bit of silicone grease in it to extend its re-usability. I do not know if it is a good idea or not!

Pros
  • Packaged well. They do the job in a pinch and it's nice to be able to reuse them.
Cons
  • The price point of this product is higher than similar end caps, making it less accessible for those working on a tight budget
