Description of Sungold Abrasives 024196 5x8 Hole 600 Grit Premium Plus C Weight Paper Hook And Loop Sanding Discs, 25-Pack

Used for wood metal plastic fiberglass paint primer solid surface materials composites. Open coat grain with a non-loading stearate minimizes loading with a cool cut for longer lasting abrasives. Strong C-weight paper backing with latex impregnated paper for strong and flexible backing abrasives will not come off when folded over. P graded heat treated aluminum oxide grain provides fast smooth cut while fracturing to create new cutting services extending abrasive life. Full resin on resin bond adheres the grain to the cutting surface making the disc waterproof.

Probably the worst sandpaper I've ever used

Probably the worst sandpaper I've ever used. It clogs in seconds, which is generous. Rather immediately. I only use it to clean factory paintwork. He shouldn't be so sloppy. It took me at least one full pass over what I was working on at the time before other paper clogged up. It took 3 discs to sand down the area shown and it's still not sanded properly.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Very expensive

Excellent end results

If you want 2000 grit grinding wheels they will fit. First, the "loop" side of the "hook and loop" system on these pads isn't as good as some of the others I've used. If you press on one end of the grinder while using these discs, they will dislodge and fly. But the results these discs deliver are excellent. Another thing is that these are almost impossible to find in the store. Thanks to Revain, they are easy to acquire.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Not sure

Works well. for a minute or two

These pads feel very thin compared to the 500 and 1200 grit pads. Within minutes of its use, the abrasive side separates from the loop side, resulting in a usage time of each disc of only about 120 seconds. Removal is also a problem as the sanding side separates back from the sanding material which breaks, requiring several minutes to remove the material from the random orbit sander after using this abrasive. Other grains work well, but this one is more effort than it's worth in my opinion.

Very very short lifespan

Definitely NOT satisfied with the durability. I'm giving one star because I can't put zero. In the photo one of these discs is new (top left) and after 3 minutes (top right) on Baltic Birch plywood which was fairly smooth initially - note how 90% of the abrasive surface has been removed - and the Porter-Rope Disc is new (bottom left) and SEVEN minutes later (bottom right) on more of the same plywood. Three stars for adhesion because the disc sticks to the grinder much longer than the abrasive…

Sungold Has Endurance

You don't think you need to worry about sticking a velcro disc on, do you? I've used cheaper brands than Sungold and the difference is not only in the durability of the disc but also in whether it stays attached to your rotary sander! That's right = cheaper brands like "Gatorgrit" fall off the grinder after a few minutes of use! Sungold discs use a high quality Velcro material that keeps the disc in place until YOU remove it. Many Thanks. sunshine gold!

I was very disappointed! I used them with a 5 inch hand sander

I have bought a few of these in different grits and have trusted Revain Prime to deliver a quality product. I was very disappointed! I've used them with a 5" hand sander and then others with a 6" DA. None of them lasted more than a short time. To give you an idea they sanded down a 2ft by 2ft section and in particular they were made without further sanding. Waste of money and very disappointed in Revain for selling them. I used them dry as intended and wet didn't help. I bought another brand…

These are the worst sanding pads I have ever used

These are the worst sanding pads I have ever used. I bought 3 different grits for sanding kitchen cabinet doors, for 80 grit I had to use a new sanding pad for each door (previously sanding bathroom doors the same style I was able to sand 2-3 doors with each sanding pad). ). When worn they started falling apart and didn't really remove the amount of material that other 80 grit sandpaper does. After 4 houses I finally decided to buy a Diablo sanding disc from Home Depot and you can tell the…

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Something different

I've wanted to review them for a long time. I haven't been able to use them often because the paint on the discs bleeds across the surface I'm sanding. It doesn't come off easily. I had to switch to a more expensive and higher quality sandpaper. I bought it from Revain and attached a photo of the product that worked for me. I have bought other sanding discs from Sungold but only the green ones suit my project. I didn't stop to take a picture of my problem. I got too excited trying to clean it…
