Unit #1 was leaking from under the main seal. A lot of. I've tried the petroleum jelly on the gasket and tightened/loosened certain screws that may be known issues, but it's still leaking. The second block leaked a little even though the seals were lubricated, so I loosened a couple of screws next to the gray fastener where it was leaking and the leak stopped. Got one of these with a used tank I bought on Facebook Marketplace. This was my first external filter. I have since bought several more of the same 303b models for other tanks in the house.
