But 2 years of protection under these conditions is great!

This is my second tarp. The first lasted almost 2 years in harsh Colorado winters and summers at 8,000 feet in the mountains. The first eventually split in half by wind and sun. But 2 years of protection under these conditions is great!

The best tarp I've ever used.

Better tarpaulin, many reinforced eyelets. The thickness of the tarpaulin far exceeded my expectations. I placed this on top of the woodpile and log splitter. I bought some 1/4 inch rope to tie it up, but I haven't replaced the orange twine I installed it with yet. I bought a 16 x 20 which seems to have plenty of room.

5 year old tarp - tarp

I am replacing this tarp after 5 years of use with another of the same model. Use it to shelter my boat in the winter in southeast Washington where winds exceed 50 mph. It resists the wind very well. The tarp is getting thin and one of the washers came loose, so I knew it was time to get a new one. The tarpaulin used to last no longer than 2 years.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

This expensive and supposedly durable tarpaulin turned out to be cheap junk. I bought it less than 3 months ago and it just folded up in my garage after a day outside. Now the tarp is falling apart and detaching right at the folded seams! I can't believe I spent $50 on a tarp that lasted me 3 months.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Not sure

Cannot withstand even moderate temperatures. Temperatures almost never get above 80 degrees where I live, but look what happened to a tarp when it was folded up in the driveway for a week. Never climbed over 80 degrees! See where he's shrinking and shrinking? It is permanent and thicker where it has shrunk. Don't buy it if you plan on keeping it in the sun. This is a photo of the tarp hanging on the Genie elevator for you to see. See the shrunken area above? Ridiculous.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

Switched to this cheap blue tarp that .

Has been replaced by this tarp from the cheap blue ones which are about half the price. So far this tarp has lasted much longer than this one, but I'm afraid it won't last another year. After several months of use, the tarpaulin has not yet come loose, but is peeling off wherever water collects. I suspect the water is destroying the laminate and causing the delamination that was on me when I took the tarp off. It begins to discolour on the side exposed to the weather. Transition from brown to…

  • Great for outdoor activities

survived the winter

I used this tarp on my boat this winter. Much cheaper than shrink wrap. I chose it for heavy gauge, hoping it will survive the winter, and maybe more than one. I've used lighter tarps in the past and they never lasted all season. It was a harsh east coast winter, and I didn't get the chance to make it as perfect as I had hoped. The schedule and weather prevented me from using the boat for most of the season and I feared the worst. Last weekend I found that it was still attached and covered…

Indestructible tarpaulin

Wife here: WORTH THE MONEY. We needed a virtually indestructible tarp. Here it is! We needed to create an outdoor area for our alpaca to lie under when it rains or snows. We built 4 poles and literally wrapped and nailed this tarp DURING A BIG STORM IN THE DARK! Ha ha. Seventy mph winds, holes with nails, supported by ropes through lots of rivets, and it's so pretty. Not a single nail hole broke out beyond where we placed it. It can withstand strong winds and continue to keep those cute…
