The stands work perfectly. Had trouble installing

The poles work great but one of the retaining clips on one end of the pole was damaged/misplaced. I tried several times to drop it in the rack but couldn't. I was able to use one of the old rack clamps instead and install the rack.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons

Didn't think it would be that easy

I'm not good at car repairs so my friend replaced it for me in about 5 minutes. I will definitely be able to do this myself in the future. It fits as advertised for Toyota Camry. Great price compared to dealer prices - in my case parts from the dealer would cost over $300!

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Thin

Good price decent quality

Someone else mentioned that the endings are wrong and that's the only thing they could do better. Because they were in my case. Simply unscrew and change! It was possible to install backwards, but I didn't like the way it looked. The soft top opens and closes gently. Most importantly, it stays open on its own! 😬

Pros
  • Build quality
Cons
  • Not the best

Ease of installation. best replacement parts

As others have said, they are pretty easy to install. You will need a flathead screwdriver and a few minutes. It is not necessary to completely remove the brackets. Pry them up just enough to easily separate them from the ball joints. You may be able to gently push the ends of the new struts into the ball joints. If not, pry the clips open with a screwdriver so their ends snap into place.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • There are flaws

Great value for money - spares

Much cheaper than stock shelves and works well. Due to the angle of the connectors on the ends I had to install them with a thicker pipe forward (connected to the hood) but when closed they clear everything so it's not a big deal. Much stronger than a good original rack which probably failed too but for the price I can replace them 4 times for the price of a set of stock racks.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Has problems

Passenger side worked driver's side not

I needed to replace the passenger side hood brace so I ordered this kit. The passenger side stood up normally and worked fine. The driver's side pillar didn't need to be replaced, but I decided to do it anyway. The ball joint angle did not work. It kept popping up whenever I closed the hood, so I put the old one back in place. I don't recommend this kit unless you want to use two struts that only work on one side of the car. Instead of returning it, I just kept the good one and threw away the…

Pay attention to your orientation!

Toyota Camry 2009. Although the small instruction page specifically advises to pay as much attention to the installation as you do to the one you are replacing, DO NOT TRY THIS. The rods have tips of different styles; One end is straight and the other end is at a slight angle to it. The angled end MUST go to the end of the hood or the brace will not fit properly. This is the opposite of factory racks (and every aftermarket rack I've even seen). They work well, just look a bit odd with the gas…

Doesn't fit properly

Not recommended. I bought a kit for my 2007 Camry because OEM kits haven't been used lately. I had to fight with the lock keys to get them out. They kept turning instead of coming out. Finally the driver's side was fine, so I took care of the passenger side. I had to lengthen the other brace to fit a passenger side brace, one of which was locked, due to the corner not locking. Close the hood a little to make it easier to engage the key. The strut didn't lock up, instead it fell off…
