Channel adapter CH100

I have a Hummer H3. It has built-in ducts on the roof. I used these adapters to install Surco S5060 Safari Rack. These adapters fit perfectly, but some maneuvering is required to install the square nut that fits the channel. Also, the bolts for these nuts get too short once the adapter is installed so I had to dig up some longer bolts from the shed. Once installed, the adapters are pretty solid. Just don't expect the engine block to rest on the roof.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not as thick as other pickaxes

Was upset to learn it's a must have when ordering the Surco Safari Rack. Mine was for a Ford Excursion and although it pleases for its looks and features (except for a 7ft lift to get there). before), it works fine. Surco Safari clearly states when ordering that nothing else is needed, so I had to wait another week. until I was able to install it properly. Oh and ps no need to order a spare tire carrier. This is a simple mod, just drill a hole in the center bar and thread in an eye hook bolt…

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Piggy Bank Price

Does the job but you may need to change them.

This kit works. Stable brackets and strong welds. I bought it to fit factory rails with a Surco post. My factory rails aren't quite flat on top and not quite parallel to the bar on the crest post. This channel adapter must be a "universal" mount as it doesn't exactly match the angle of my rails.1. Used fender washers to position the mounting brackets in the angle of my roof rails2. I had to use longer screws as the lengths supplied are not long enough for my factory rails. I had several…

  • High marks for support and durability from testers

Just what I needed

Base mount too wide for my SnugTop Topper rails on my Tacoma. So I have to go to Home Depot to find some aluminum that I can cut into small squares to fit the rails. But really the hook part is the part that I cared about the most. It will be just right if I can attach it. I'm glad I bought them. I will add an update when everything is ready. UPDATE I took a base flat bar and cut it down for my rails, drilled and screwed holes to use the same screws that came with the original kit. It worked…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • No performance

Will not fit luggage rack

I needed two kits to attach my 84ft Safari rack to my Ford Excursion's factory roof rails. The stand itself is good, but that's a problem. The square "nut" that slides into the rail is too small. Tightening the legs allows this "nut" to come right out of the rail and potentially "loosen" the entire Safari brace. or worse. I had to insert a tiny screwdriver into the rail to turn this square "nut" almost into a diamond position so it would stay in the rail on the roof while I tightened the screws

Pros
  • Lots of extras
Cons
  • Protection
