SV165 Telescope Focusing Accessory

I just received it and was confused at first how to focus with the eyepiece. There are several tubes in the area. The middle tube has a very long thread. When turning, the red ring opens, then you unscrew the middle part until the desired focal length is reached. Once focusing is achieved, the red ring tightens (towards the end of the eyepiece) and blocks the entire scope. The product description says there is a 45mm extension. The first picture shows the unwrapped length of 110mm and the…

Fully functional offer.

I just received this today and I'm completely satisfied. I had no problems focusing with the ZWO 120 Mini Pointing Camera. Despite reports that the clamp screw isn't long enough to properly engage the compression ring, I've had enough of it. The attachment is simple but strong. It doesn't allow aiming, but it doesn't require the guidance sight to be pointed squarely at the target, so it doesn't matter. Everything is well done. As mentioned, it comes in a cardboard box rather than a "tin" box as

Impressive - Accessory

My biggest concern was it flopping on my mount - I've seen videos of people talking about the rails not being solid which makes aiming bad - That leads of course to them to buy more expensive rail sights which are tight - This scope is 100% tight when the adjuster is locked - It doesn't move a bit - I'm so impressed with this scope - I don't know how you can get a better product can for that price. I use one of those pink ASI120 clones sold here at Revain with the extension ring that comes with

Nice Minimalist Guide Scope

This is a great scope with auto focus up to 800mm. It's set up as explained by another user: 3 streams, front stream allows you to remove the lens, then front and back stream. The red ring is a retaining ring that prevents the sight from changing focus. My ASI290mm had to be exactly 45mm from the red ring when locking. The threads are very thin so it's easy to get perfect focus before fixing everything. The rings have soft grooves on the adjustment screws and you can easily rotate the camera in

Good little scope for autoguiding

Nice light scope for autoguiding. My Orion StarShoot AutoGuider camera fits in well. This scope has sufficient focus thread length to perfectly focus on the sensor without extending more than 20mm. The red focus lock ring also makes it easy to lock focus without losing focus and without loosening knobs or set screws. Once focused, it shows the stars very well with no halos or anything like that, allowing the pointing camera to do its job well. It is much lighter and smaller than my Orion 50mm…

Great value for money

This little hydoscope really deserves 5 stars and there is a very small reason why I wanted to give it 4.5 stars instead. so I rounded it down, but the result is really very close to the ideal. As others have noted it is very durable and in my case I had no issues with the retaining screw at all. I use an svbony305 pro camera (bought it for another reason but now work as a tour guide) and it fits and works perfectly with it. As others have pointed out, to get infinity focus with shorter cameras

Has some good aspects, BUT.

First of all I'm reviewing this on the basis of the most basic knowledge, since I only received it yesterday and I haven't brought it to light yet, so in the next few months I will be able to check some more user observations to add and so I'll limit my comments to assembly and ease of setup. Build quality feels economical, but not necessarily cheap. The product's light weight suggests bi-metal rather than machined aluminum, which can be an advantage in terms of added weight, but can be a…
