Swissmar Napoli Salt Keeper featuring a Detachable Lid, Crafted from Olive Wood Review

Good salt shaker, but small. I use it to store a salt, pepper, and garlic mix next to the stove - something I don't use often. I have something bigger just for the salt. The lid fits well. No rips or stains.

Received the "Salt Keeper" in the mail yesterday. Nice box but not practical to use well as salt. Maybe as a holder for my rings, which is probably what I'll use it for.

For the price I thought I'd get a decent salt tin (like the one in the middle photo). But in reality they are much smaller than I expected. The quality is excellent but if you are looking for something more then this is not it.

The product is said to be made of natural olive wood but looks more like a cheap polyester coated maple. I've bought a lot of olive wood tableware in the past and I love the beautiful textured and natural oil finishes. It's not like this.

The salt shaker bowl I received is made from a very nice olive wood as can be seen in the product images. However, the lid I received is undoubtedly a very different, cheaper one. looks for a tree that doesn't fit. It doesn't have the interesting textural texture of the shell, just a soft, light-colored wood with thick varnish. I'll probably just use the bowl without the lid because the bowl is delicious.

WHAT WE LIKE: Nice tree design and good quality. Although we expect the salt shaker to be small, it was very small, especially for the price, 3 - no spoon. good finishes and small footprint, do it!

So quite decent. The fit and finish is nice and smooth, and it really doesn't feel super cheap, which is surprising. So I ordered a few more. I think I got lucky the first time because sometimes it's a great orange-brown finish with a nice grain and sometimes it's a dull brown and greenish wood with an ugly texture.
