My husband bought this to replace the brake pads on his Toyota. No instructions or anything came with the item, just the item, maybe if there was one he would know how to use it properly. He tried to use it but he may have done it wrong because he broke it. But otherwise it's in perfect condition and it's not a cheap instrument.

I used this to disassemble stuck furniture and hardware to remove a stuck handle from my Segway. This is a compact spreader and as long as there is room for it you can spread out anything that gets stuck. I've even used it to disconnect a large high pressure hose. Durable steel, easy to use.

Shipping was quick and packaging was quite good. It's much easier to use than a clamp and a piece of wood. It's strong and well made so there's no problem squeezing the piston in the caliper. For the price you really can't beat it. Now I had to squeeze the piston a bit on a set I only made to fit between the piston and the caliper, but once I squeezed it a bit everything was fine. In any case, it works great and I would definitely recommend it.

I was able to make it smoother by loosening the nylock nut slightly and also taking it apart and lubricating the pin and threads.
