Good KVM Switch - Computer Components

I recently bought this to switch between Vista and XP computers and it worked right out of the box with no setup issues. This model costs a little more than the similar Syba model, SY-KVM20051 Syba SY-KVM20051 USB interface, 2x ports, wired KVM switch, compact design, video up to 2048x1536 pixels, with wired remote switch, but I like this one me better, so how it has hotkey port switching (as opposed to the remote switch on the other model). This model also has built-in audio (which I don't use

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Don't like it, everything is fine

Very disappointed - does not work with wireless keyboard and mouse

I have tried hooking this up to a perfectly working HP Pavilion HPE running Windows 7 and an older XP computer. The video worked fine, but I was disabled because it couldn't detect my Microsoft Wireless 3000 keyboard and mouse, even though the user manual says it should. After I emailed the manufacturer about the problem, they told me to send it back for a replacement and that my setup should work. The second wasn't much better. He sees the wireless keyboard but not the mouse. The keyboard…

Pros
  • Availability
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Requires weekly reset

Typical KVM; It was easy to connect and the standard double ctrl key works great for switching between my XP desktop/laptop. One problem is that sometimes if I accidentally hit ctrl and another key twice at the same time, the path seems to get lost and I have to unplug the USB from both computers and restart. It only happens at the worst possible moment, hence the three stars. I would still buy it again given the price and one of the few with sonic capabilities.

Pros
  • Useful beyond intended purpose
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised

Great product, suitable for external components

I have two laptops, one with XP and one with Windows 7, with a regular wired keyboard and a wireless mouse. The first thing that struck me when I opened the box was that the device is solid and well made, the cables are great quality and everything I needed to connect it was right there. It connected and worked right away exactly as advertised and I really like it.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not sure

works right out of the box. but

I picked this KVM switch over others that got better feedback from users just because it's one of the few that supports keyboard shortcut switching. KVM's design is good and you save 1 USB port on each PC/Laptop as it combines USB keyboard and USB mouse in one USB port on your PC. No setup required, I just plugged in the cables and it worked right away. Switching is also very easy, all you have to do is double-click the control button on your keyboard. The only negative thing about this KVM is…

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Can I add something
