The outlet was good as I had to upgrade to local devices.

The bulb was either defective or askew during shipping - it did not work when placed in the socket. The socket was good as I had to go to the local hardware store and buy one and it worked fine. Too much trouble and money to return so I gave up. I will no longer order lightbulbs online.

Pros
  • Beautiful packaging
Cons
  • Will be added later

No "Buzz " Recessed Box Lights

These are heavy duty items. The thickness of all components makes them such that there is almost no "buzz" like my regular bulbs have when dimmed. I replaced all the lights in the basement with these. I can watch a movie with dimmed lights without hum. They're a bit pricey, but mine lasted an average of 3 years.

Pros
  • Best of the Bunch
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging

They arrived on time despite what they looked like.

They arrived on time and although they looked a fraction of an inch shorter than my previous bulb (I didn't measure) it fitted perfectly and was just as bright as other similar bulbs I've used have until now. Can't comment on durability as I've just received them but the box is the same as my previous bulbs as far as I can tell and well bubble wrapped.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Relocated screw base with bulb - unserviceable

Bought this light in April 2015 and opened it on 19th June 2016 to replace a faulty light. The lamp's threaded base was misaligned with the lamp and shaped in such a way that the lamp could not be used. Unfortunately, this has been observed well beyond the time it takes for a refund to be issued. In the future I will open the case and check these bulbs immediately to make sure the base of the bulb screw is properly aligned with the rest of the bulb.

Pros
  • Endurance test results
Cons
  • Not sure

Big savings with 75w true incandescent bulb

I received a 75w 120v PAR30L true halogen bulb on 02/02/2016. I'm so glad this isn't a "75w equivalent" scam. The energy cost of this bulb is far less than it would cost to add 10-20% more lights to my ceiling to compensate for the weak bulbs. This lightbulb will save me thousands of dollars in renovation costs and reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that would be required to manufacture additional canisters and cords.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • dim

Reduced product, other model sent

Sylvania have discontinued this lamp and replaced it with a 60 watt model which is almost but not as bright and has a slightly different color temperature. The Revain listing says 75w, 1000 lumens, 3000k. Received bulbs rated 60w, 910 lumens, 2950k. it's close enough for me to leave the bulbs and the seller i chose, was kind enough to give me a discount to make me happy. But Revain needs to update the listing to reflect what is actually being delivered.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Lots
