📀 Sylvania SRDD495: Streamlined DVD Player and VCR Combo for High-Quality Playback Review

This DVD player/VCR is pretty good. It looks great on the shelf and works pretty well, but it's a bit confusing to use and set up. Now it works fine but not optimal because I can't figure it out.

Why are companies allowed to advertise products they don't have? This item was ordered on February 7th, 2007 and is expected to be in stock. It is now March 12th, more than a month has passed and it has not yet been sent. This has happened to me quite a bit at Revain so I'm trying to order elsewhere.

I bought this as a gift for my elderly aunt. When I set it up I was embarrassed to find the item didn't work. It appears to be very cheaply made, confusing menus (if they appeared at all) and useless manual. I had to run to the store that same day to get a new one to replace it and I found a much better Samsung model at Target for $20 more. It was worth it.

THIS AMAZON PURCHASE WAS GREAT! DVD PLAYER WORKS GREAT. INSTALLATION GUIDE WAS CLEAR AND SHORT. I RECOMMEND IT TO A FRIEND WHO ALSO BOUGHT ONE AND HE LOVED IT TOO. I LOVE SHOPPING FROM HOME AND THIS DVD PLAYER WAS A GREAT BARGAIN. I PLAN TO BUY ANOTHER THAT RECORDS DVD FROM VHS AND I WILL DEFINITELY BUY IT FROM AMAZON ALSO.

VCR doesn't work right out of the box, he wants to play DVD video but VCR sound, I've checked my connections 10 times and I'm leaning towards electronics. Don't ask me, I think it needs to be sent back. He's tried svideo connections and progressive scan, both do the same thing. Also tried using the functions on the remote control for the VCR or DVD player and the back or TV/VCR buttons but it still doesn't help.
