Description of ๐Ÿ” High-Quality West System Epoxy Resin: 0.98 Gallon Size for Exceptional Results

105 EPOXY RESIN is the base material on which all WEST SYSTEM 105 System epoxy compounds are built. It is a clear, pale yellow, low-viscosity liquid epoxy resin. Blended at the correct ratio with one of 4 WEST SYSTEM hardeners, it cures to a high-strength solid that is functionally waterproof, highly resistant to moisture vapor. Based on which hardener you choose, it cures at a wide range of temperatures. THIS EPOXY IS EASILY MODIFIED with WEST SYSTEM Fillers, Additives, and Pigments to create the necessary handling characteristics to suit the job at hand. Whether you need to create a pigmented coating, high-strength epoxy joints, a fairing compound, or low-friction surface, WEST SYSTEM 105 Resin is modifiable to meet your project's requirements. COMBINED WITH WEST SYSTEM 205 Fast Hardener or 206 Slow Hardener at a 5-parts resin to 1-part hardener ratio, 105 Resin cures, developing superior physical properties at room temperature. It has excellent structural bonding properties, can be modified with fillers and additives, and will easily coat fiberglass other porous substrates. COMBINED WITH BLUSH-FREE 207 Extra Clear Hardener at a 3-parts resin to 1-part hardener ratio, 105 Resin is excellent for coating and fiberglass cloth applications where an exceptionally clear, moisture-resistant, natural wood finish is desired. It will not blush or turn cloudy, even in humid conditions. Thin film applications roll out and tip off smoothly, requiring less sanding in preparation for finish coatings. COMBINED WITH 209 Extra Slow Hardener at a 3-parts resin to 1-part hardener ratio, 105 Resin is especially well suited for general coating and structural bonding applications in extremely warm and/or humid conditions or when working time is needed at room temperature. Forms a clear, amber-colored solid with excellent physical properties and moisture-vapor resistance.

High quality good for cleaning tools

Used to build a styrofoam pontoon boat. Dries to a hard layer. There are many epoxies out there, but for some reason I trusted this one. I'm glad I did.

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • update available

Will be sent disassembled in a box. Can badly dented

This is an excellent product. I've used gallons of this over the years. Completely satisfied. My gallon arrived today, shipped in a box, about an inch all around. Unsurprisingly, the glass is badly deformed and may leak over the next few months.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Frequency

Do not buy from Revain

DO NOT BUY from Revain I wish I had read the other reviews. Revain does not use any packaging material around the can. Your glass will be dented. I'm aware of my carbon footprint, so I can't bring myself to return it. The contents are fine, but I will look at a dented glass for years.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Minor issues

Damaged glass - contents spill in box

Great product. Use it in our store. However, the tin was dented in the front corner and the top lid was so dented that it had leaked into the box on arrival. Pay a little more and order it directly next time. The need to pour the contents into an old glass to use the pump nozzle.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Something different

If it's good enough for Jimmy DiResta and Matt Cremona

If it's good enough for Jimmy DiResta and Matt Cremona, it's good enough for me. Used with slow hardener and black paint to fill large cracks in oak panels. It is easy to work with, it is well planed, it adheres well to wood. The pumping system attracted me in the first place. You can mix any batch with zero waste!

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Expandable

The best epoxy for many projects!

I have used West Systems epoxy for many years and will probably continue to use it for many years to come! This is a great epoxy for so many different projects I couldn't name all the things I've repaired or built with it! Many other things. In conjunction with a dosing pump, it ensures thorough mixing.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...

Easy to use and consistent results

I use West Systems epoxy and hardener extensively with wood, especially when making tables with sharp edges that need to fill gaps and seams. I combine this with Black Diamond powders and have been happy with it for a number of years. Epoxy is easy to use, especially if you're buying a pump system. This is not a problem when measuring. The price is reasonable and the results are always excellent. I highly recommend this product.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • I don't remember

Good product at a good price and read the instructions

Good product but we have used it to fill deep holes in locusts. Measure carefully, work quickly, and fill shallow (1/4" +/-). If it's too deep, bubbles or cracks will appear at the bottom. The next pour can fill the cracks, but there won't be any bubbles. Walk They go away if you don't follow them, not nice. We found it helpful to apply an initial thin coat with a brush to the bottom of the cavities, which seemed prone to blistering. But not evenly, oddly. Bear in mind the ambient temperatureโ€ฆ

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Arrived in crushed tin

When it arrived the tin looked like something very heavy had been placed on it. The small handle at the top was crushed, the sides bent. However, the box it came in was not damaged in any way. This means that the broken and damaged tin was placed in an already damaged box and shipped. The Revain was good enough to make a replacement in one night that didn't get damaged. However, with another order of Hardener 207, this happened again. The box is undamaged, the glass inside is badly damaged. Why

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Safety
