Seriously the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. Period

Please do not buy WiFi mesh for Harmon Kardon speakers. Harmon Kardon simply will NOT work. I mean it just doesn't work. I wasted my precious 4 hours contacting NetGear tech support and it was a ENTIRE waste of my time. Technical support expired 1 week after I bought the product when I should have received 90 days of free technical support. Essentially, this means that either Revain or NetGear shipped something from old stock. One of the tech support people told me that my Harmon Kardon speaker

Quality signal - difficult to set up

The system was easy to set up - until you had a problem. Replacing my existing Linksys router with an Orbi router went smoothly; continue to use the same network name and password. The addition of Orbi's 1st satellite was almost automatic. However, adding a voice satellite was extremely difficult and problematic. The voice connection was not connected as a satellite, but connected to the router's Wi-Fi, which I could see in the "Devices" section. Nothing I could do (maybe reinstalled 10 times)…

  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Poorly set up

Major Update: Computers and Accessories

WiFi is much better in my house now, I've used an ethernet cable as a return path and have excellent WiFi on all three floors. I can easily stream videos, surf the web and do some video chatting at the same time. One complaint is that the voice-activated satellite is a little slow to respond and doesn't emit an audible "ring" when saying "Alex," but the music quality is pretty decent for a small mono speaker.

I contacted Netgear to help install Speaker Satellite - the mobile app doesn't install it but needs to be installed manually. When contacting Netgear I am told that this speaker satellite was manufactured in 2018 and not sold by Revain. They will not honor my request for help as their warranty is one year and technical support is only 90 days. Netgear asked me for proof of purchase. I submitted a copy to Revain, but Netgear still believes I purchased the Speaker Satellite from an unauthorized…

Doesn't really work

My home is a ranch with a basement that houses the router and a living level with an outbuilding. Also, the WiFi reception was poor, so we took the Orbi to improve it. Guess what? It didn't improve him. The house is 50 feet long and 20 feet wide, built in 1959, old brick. I'm not talking about a sprawling, multi-story new McMansion. And Orbi hasn't done anything to improve cell phone reception. Really wasted money for us.

Orbi voice satellite - junk

You get a modem and two satellites. One of the satellites is Voice or I, the Alexa version (RBS40V) and rarely works. I have to keep restarting and resetting it to get it online. The modem and other satellites (RBS40V) work as they should. We have many plots and one of the satellites is in the annex building. When everything is working properly, speed and coverage are excellent. Customer service is less than helpful. I called 6 months after purchase to try to hook up the RBS40V and they said I…
