Good Stuff: Car Care

I used this with wood glue to make putty to repair an antique china cabinet with a broken wooden doorknob. I had no choice but to have a carpenter make a new pull arm for me. This has been working for a good month or so now. Haven't pulled it yet, but will keep trying. I bought this bin and used very little on my project so am curious to find another use for an almost full bin. I will definitely use it as a filler in the future where needed.

  • Best
Cons
  • Slightly Crumpled

This is good stuff!

I mixed epoxy to fill rotten joists in my deck structure. This material used as a thickener was fantastic. I could mix the epoxy to any consistency needed for the job simply by adding the appropriate amount of wood flour. Really really really impressed and it solved a big problem for me which was pouring epoxy into a rotten spot without it spilling out through every nook and cranny. Apply the first coat of epoxy to get good penetration into the wood, but subsequent pours can be made thicker.

  • No performance

Great thickener for epoxy

When you buy this material you know exactly what you need it for and what it is for. They are essentially very fine sawdust used to thicken the epoxy. There are other epoxy thickeners (like silicates) but this one is inexpensive, safe to use, densely packed, uniform in texture, and sold in reasonable quantities (I didn't need a 5 gallon or 1 ounce bucket). Pipette). I'm making a wooden surfboard from scratch that ended up costing multiples more than I could buy a world class custom board, so Iโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Really fine powder. Just like a container of real baking flour.

I am very glad that I found this product! I didn't even know there was such a thing. I didn't use it the way others read it. I made a custom floor out of strips of plywood in my small house. Although I was very careful with the cuts, there were still very small gaps between some of the strips. I mixed this product with waterproof wood glue until I got a thick paste which you can see in the photos I uploaded. I used a spatula to spread the mixture over all the gaps between the boards. Then Iโ€ฆ
