Not for continuous outdoor use

Rope will rot if left outside. Used it for the "railing" on the bridge over the creek. Disintegrated in less than 2 years.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons

Excellent rope, suitable for tarps and tie downs

We bought this to hang a swing from our porch and had to make grommets and stop knots to make it work. The rope was easy to manipulate to make this easier and also more than strong enough to handle the swing.

Perfect. in hardware

Great rope, easy on the hands and looks fantastic as a circle on our outside patio. A note - manila rope shrinks a lot when wet. I've found that I need 6-8 inches of slack (dry) between the posts spaced 6 feet apart to not pull on the corner posts when the rope gets wet from the rain.

looks great but beware

Looks great and easy to work with but not for climbing or touching - just decoration. The fibers are so sharp that I dug them into my fingers twice while working with this material. I had to get a lot of the work I had on the floor so my kids couldn't get to it after discovering the pieces were made from this yarn and not the wood I was working with.

good stuff---not all ropes are created equal

Bought to remove 60ft of trees felled for firewood. Used with a hand winch or vehicle [when possible] to direct the falling of trees and separate them when trees float into each other. Despite the size, the rope is very flexible, although it is more difficult to knot compared to 3/4" rope. The working load of this strain [1620 lbs] is equivalent to 3/4" nylon with no nylon. breaks under load. Also when wet, nylon can lose 15% in strength while manila can gain 15%. Of course none of them should…

Excellent swing bed rope

Excellent rope for hanging my swing. Ease of use and the look I wanted. Be sure to secure the ends with tape so they don't fray when you pull on the eyebolt or tie knots. Thread this rope through 3/8" x 5" eye bolts with a 1" eye diameter; It's tight and requires a little twist along with arm strength to get through but just what I needed. I would suggest to leave an extra two feet of rope at each end for knots, adjustments, and a little more for decoration on the ends when you hang the porch…

Pros
  • Everything is ok!
Cons
  • Some problems

Much thicker than stated.

Excellent quality. Appearance is great for landscape rope fencing. It only covered about 75 feet when wrapped around the poles. The 1 inch size is actually 1.5 inches and will swell a bit more when wet which can reduce mileage if not planned. Much larger in diameter than the same size rope at Home Depot so looks good but length can be compromised if not planned. I hosed it well after temporarily installing the first run before cutting and permanently attaching it, or maybe I missed the second…
