Small but strong

This is a solid part and fits right onto my tailgate, although the handle portion is smaller than the plastic ones I've gotten over the years, but that's a compromise I'm willing to make enter into. Not changing a broken handle every few years.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Thin

Incredibly easy! good for body and trim

I confess when I ordered this part I was worried about how cheap it was and whether it would even work. But when we received it we found it easy to install and looks like the original. It also works like the original! Maison installed it and I think it took about ten minutes to remove the old one and install the new one. We were amazed. We are so happy with this purchase!

Not Quite OEM: Trim

While not a true OEM replacement, it is an upgrade over it as it is metal rather than plastic. However, I am disappointed with the fit and finish of the new ones. It's smaller than OEM in every way. The gap between the latches is so small that I have a hard time getting my fingers underneath to open the back door. know how to replace the latch, note that instructions are not included.

Broke on installation

So this is how it attaches to the back door: Slide the two nuts from the last door (they attach to the studs). Insert new block, secure with nuts. One of the nuts tightened well, the other loosened from the block before I had a chance to tighten it even a little. A weld seam broke on this part before the assembly was completed. Undressing was a nightmare in itself. My back door is still broken. Oh and I've fixed it twice already (18 year old truck and I use it so not without reason) so I think…

Better Than Standard Plastic Grip

Firstly, this metal grip is superior to standard plastic grips and will solve the problem easily. However, the handle is not exactly the size of the plastic on 2000-up models. The footprint is slightly smaller compared to the sheet metal of the tail section, but the screw holes line up perfectly, but it's almost imperceptible. In fact, you will forget about the smaller footprint (especially since it will be hidden). I mean, if you really look under the doorknob, you'll be happy just because you

Be Care Care good for Body & Trim

Handle feels solid, looks good, fits well and has very little give compared to plastic liftgate handles. However, the 2 built-in bolts are made of oil. I'm an experienced mechanic and have never felt a bolt this size stretch so easily. When tightening nuts on metal parts, they will eventually reach the attachment point. then you turn. not this one. The nut continues to turn as if about to be tightened, but then the shank of the bolt breaks. Still I bought another one as it's so cheap and I'll…

Great value for outside door handles

It's very well made and coated so I don't expect any corrosion issues for a long time. There was/is a lot to consider. One of the design issues mentioned by others is that the grip is smaller than the OEM unit. Sizing can be an issue in the northern states in the winter when wearing thick gloves or mittens. This isn't a problem if you're using it barehanded or with lighter gloves. The second issue was a minor installation issue. Rivets 6mm x 1mm. A nut with a diameter of 6 mm is screwed by hand

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Good solid replacement even for a 2011 truck

Will fit a 2011 Ranger. It's smaller but I wanted metal as the plastic will bend even when new. Unless you're a Super Ranger fan (I am) you won't notice the size difference. It fits perfectly into the lines of the tailgate. It's only 2/3 the size of the original. I even had plans to glue the plastic face of the broken handle to the metal assembly if that would look too weird. But it's normal. Easy installation and positive experience. There are no problems installing and using it. Especially…
