Fantastic addition to the garage

Fantastic addition to the garage. Just point it at the spark plug and it will tell you everything you need to know. Very handy for setting idle and top speed on chainsaws. What a great tool to have around.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Older model

Very easy to use for diagnostic, test and measurement tools

Neat little device. Very easy to use. I tried it on my wife's 2012 Nissan Rogue with COP ignition on my 90hp 4-stroke outboard. with DIS ignition and he has read every spark plug and provided all the data as described. Nice quick check. The next best thing to seeing a car. Gives you the min./max. speed, KV and burning time. RPM matched another time display.

Pros
  • Confident

  • Some problems

Easy to use, best for ignition testers

Used a few times to diagnose misfire problems. Works well. I saved a lot of time by not having to do a sample test to be sure of what I already suspect. Works with standard ignition systems. Coils and wires that are in close proximity must be shielded with strong aluminum foil to prevent leakage. So far it seems to be well designed and put together. Easy to use. Hopefully it will serve you well for years to come.

  • Great for me

Good product. That suits my needs.

. Good results. I tested the device on my car by comparing the TA500 RPM readings to the OBD-II code readings. Both devices showed close speed values. I read other reviews about this analyzer. It is easy to use, but care must be taken not to pick up electromagnetic fields from neighboring wires - if v. close to what we want to measure as readings may not be accurate. Read the instructions provided and use common sense.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities.
Cons
  • Fits

I work on older bikes and many of them don't have a tachometer or the tachometer is inaccurate. It's a sleek, well-made tool that does exactly what you need it to do. If you look at this product and reviews, just buy it! It's made in Canada, which is a plus for me as I'm tired of buying electronics (and pretty much everything else) from China. GTC's questions about how the product works and how to interpret the screen displays are answered by real, knowledgeable, English-speaking people who are

Great value for money, the old one served me well.

The TA100 will probably suit you if you are just OP. Automotive technicians may need the TA500. My GTC TA100 antennas, which are about 10 years old, are worn out and the retaining pin has pulled out of its captive section. I looked at the TA500, there is not much difference between the new 100 and 500, 500 can do COP and give burn time. Features I don't need but decided to upgrade. I'm very happy with the life the TA100 has given me, which cost about $100 at the time, which is about $10 a year.

  • Good product for the price

Great product but try the new GTC analyzer for the same price!

This is a good diagnostic tool, easy and quick to use. Although I have a Picoscope, Vantage Pro etc it's nice to be able to quickly check recording times etc on COP systems. HOWEVER, GTC recently introduced a new tool at the same price, which I think is superior to this tool. This is the GTC505 (also available in Revain) and it has a color display that shows the secondary pattern as well as other data views that make diagnosis even easier. The manufacturer has a nice YT video of the device in…

  • Unreliable
