It takes practice to start the tip

takes some practice, blades dull quickly but I did 18ft of tip in 3-5 minutes start to finish

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Interchangeability

You must have one in leathercraft

is a really great tool. I tried 5 oz cowhide and bison leather for the first time. Cut strips 5-10 mm thick with a head knife or rotary knife. but NOW it's the norm. I use it too I guess.ha

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Almost never

At first I was terribly excited. I don't think this will ever work on thin skin. I think vegetable tanned leather is the best. I ended up using a 6mm thick piece of vegetable tanned cowhide leather and after a few unsuccessful tries I found the correct positions and removed about 15 feet of lace, only slippery. I hope I can remember how I did it. Thin skin just doesn't fit.

Pros
  • Leather processing accessories
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Great Lacemaker

Many reviews indicate the difficulty of using this tool. I would like to point out in the agreement that this can be difficult. However, when used correctly, it works exactly as intended. I've used mine to make many leather lace feet. After buying this one I found my old one which is over 20 years old. They are identical and both work great. Be careful reading reviews as some of them were written out of frustration caused by operator error and not product defect.

Pros
  • Craft
Cons
  • The cord is shorter than other picks

Don't do the job!

I needed a tool to cut leather lace because spools of this material are expensive and I also have a lot of leather scraps. So I was very pleased when I found it on Revain. Since it was made by a company I was familiar with (I used to frequent Tandy Leather stores before they all closed) and was reasonably priced, I ordered one. It came pretty quickly, I wanted to try it right away. I spent an hour wrestling with it and trying it on different skin weights to no avail. I've always been a…
