The RMA replacement failed within a few weeks.

I have this amazing little dock with gigabit ethernet, a 4k 60Hz display port monitor and a few other USB peripherals. It offers all the power I need to charge my 2017 Macbook Pro during heavy use. In short, if you're looking for a one-cable solution, this is the one for you. What I haven't tried yet is connecting a second 4k 60hz monitor via the docking station. It is said to be able to run two 4k 60Hz monitors or one 5k 60Hz monitor along with other peripherals. The difference is that it has…

"Remote Control " includes things like opening the start menu

I have two 28" 4k displays connected to this thing and Targus says they are working with 60 Hertz. The machine I use with this dock is a Lenovo ThinkPad E570 (15" 1080p display) with i7-7500U and GeForce GTX 950. Compression artifacts or refresh rate drops to 30Hz. "Remote taxation" includes things like that Opening the Start menu, moving a window, maximizing/minimizing windows, viewing email messages in Outlook, typing Word, and simply using Microsoft Remote Desktop/RemoteApp. Simple…

4K @ 60Hz verified via DisplayPort

The only thing I personally don't like about this DOCK160USZ is Targus' decision to use a "MicroUSB" 3.0 connector, which is very thin and flat. I find this style of USB connector to be less reliable than the larger, almost square type, and I've had several external drives where the flimsy ribbon cable bends or breaks too easily. If it's sitting in one spot on your desk, that shouldn't be a problem. When traveling with it, always unplug the USB cable carefully to avoid bending it, and position…

Runs on Ubuntu 19.04 with DisplayLink

I am very happy to have found this docking station for my laptop running Linux (Ubuntu 19.04 specifically) Disco Dingo . All USB pass-through functions work out of the box, but you must install DisplayLink for any monitors connected to the dock to work. Being able to store it under my laptop is perfect for me as it aligns the bottom of my laptop screen with the bottom of my second monitor. An added bonus is that it has also improved my laptop's cooling. I can't say for sure if it will work for…
