Great machine for the price, works well.

One fantastic unit! For the price you could ask for nothing more. Just follow the directions. While the meters are slow, its no big deal. Just average it out. For transferring tapes this is a very easy machine to use, again read the directions. The sync recording makes transferring tape a snap.

Pros
  • This recorder allows you to record your favorite music or audio content on blank CDs with ease, enabling you to create your own personalized library of classics or mixtapes
Cons
  • Only records at real-time

Works great! good for me

It works great and the CD's sound fine. I had a Phillips burner before and it went bad so after a few years I bought this one primarily because I have a big vinyl collection and it's the only way to convert vinyl to digital.

Pros
  • The recorder's black chassis is made of high-quality materials that ensure it is sturdy and durable, so you won't have to worry about it getting damaged easily
Cons
  • No support for trimming silence

"Sticky " buttons on my review.

This machine makes very nice CDs and would would be great if you only intend to dub whole discs. However, the Play and Pause buttons do not work immediately 100% of the time. These are critical functions when recording individual selections from other discs.

Pros
  • everything went well. No reported issues. I surpport and recommend the product.
Cons
  • No possibility to Stream online music services

Durable, reliable, easy to use and make excellent CDRs.

I had one of the first ones many years ago. They're durable, reliable, easy to use and make excellent CDRs. My last one finally died early this year after 15 years of heavy use. Highly recommended.

  • FEATURES: 120V AC, 60Hz (US). Weight: 9.9 lbs. Dimensions: (W x H x D): 17-1/8" x 4-15/16" x 11-11/16" (435 x 100 x 295 mm).
Cons
  • Can be noisy in operation

Better CD R than the Tascam . Very impressed !

Arrived very quickly than scheduled date , safe no damage ! I plugged it in and connected to my stereo system and started recording : works perfect , sounds awesome , easy to use , no fancy buttons , etc. I have connected to my Onkyo AM/FM Stereo receiver TX-8511 100 watts , Audio Source EQ-11 Equalizer , and my Sony SS-FL7000 4 way towers . Perfect !. If you like to record on CD's this is the one . Great for recording old cassettes tapes , records , the FM , Internet , Etc. I did own the…

Pros
  • A little more complicated than the unit it replaced. Adding tracks takes some practice.
Cons
  • Good value, but is very temperamental. I purchased this to transfer 8-track and cas

works great best in my review

as a 1st time user, I had to study the directions and experiment with a couple of discs but have finally mastered the art of copying to cd. Keep the directions close at hand because you will need to review them often as you don't use this machine often. I like to have all my favorite music on one disc instead of carrying all of them.

Pros
  • Easy to use so far I didn't try everything on it
Cons
  • Poorly written User Manual

Very good CD recorder.

Easy to use compared to the Phillips I got from Fry's. Very good quality and seems reliable. I love recording my 45 R.P.M. records to CD with this.

Pros
  • 10 pounds
Cons
  • Clunky software updates

A very good CD Recorder, But!

A good CD recorder, for transferring from old LPs or tape , or just recording music or "voice with a mic", The reason for only four stars, this CD recorder/player has no stand-by or power switch button on the remote, the only power button is on the player/recorder,"not very convenient" unless you intend on leaving it powered-up all the time, hopefully the manufacture will make the change someday and add this feature, also when recording it would be nice to have had a button on…

Pros
  • I like it, does what I bought it for. Just read the instructions to better understand how it functions!
Cons
  • Incompatible with some CD Formats

This unit DOES make decent CD recordings and for the money you really can't complain, but there are a few issues you might want to know about. I wish I'd had the chance to demo this unit before I bought it, so maybe I can at least warn you so that if you want to spend a bit more to get increased features you can decided if you need to or not. One big problem with this deck is the level meters only have a few segments, so it can be very hard to keep from going over zero db unless you spend a lot

Pros
  • No remote on-off
Cons
  • Inconsistent Playback Performance

Works fine for my opinion

Unit is easy to use and records great, just had to read the instructions carefully to use unit. Would liked to have more information on what different features are used for other wise a great product.

Pros
  • Transfer LP’s to CD’s
Cons
  • Minimalistic design might not appeal to everyone

Great for the price

I'm happy that these are still available for a reasonable price. It does the job for my music/band room to both record performances and let me play with play along CDs

Pros
  • During recording, the TEAC CD-RW890MK2-B ensures that the recording process remains stable, without any interruptions or overwriting
Cons
  • Can be too heavy to move around

Great unit! And erase DOES work; only with CD-RW discs!

his is an excellent product! It almost got returned: I was unable to use the erase function, and called Walmart. The rep told me that it didn't work; that it was only decorative.Fortunately, I called TEAC. I was not using re-writable discs. This unit makes excellent recordings, and most of my cassettes (pre-recorded and home-made) are now safely on CD's! And the TEAC support staff is also excellent!

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Inadequate compatibility with CD-R discs

The deck is easy to use

The deck is easy to use, and it does not do the inappropriate things that my first burner did. My first recorder was 13 years old, and its peculiar behavior was documented by other people in their reviews of it. I like the fact that Finalizing takes about 45 seconds to complete, where my old Philips took 2-1/2 minutes to complete Finalizing, when it chose to do so at all.

Pros
  • Its cdr records & rewritescds
Cons
  • High power consumption

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Is a good recorder for the price

Is a good recorder for the price. No hard drive to store media for burning, you must play into and record at same time, this can be troublesome if you forget to track mark or mess up a song, you cannot re-do it on cdr. Cdrw you can. Four stars/

Pros
  • This does everything it promises. Really like it
Cons
  • The Remote Control is too basic

They recommended the Tascam CD-RW900

It is as designed for home use, but I get clicks and pops between songs. I wrote to Teac - they informed me that this model is not set up for mixing tracks. It needs a different layout to punch in and out. They recommended the Tascam CD-RW900, so I asked for a refund on this. I can't make CD's for people and have that problem. As an aside, I've been going round and round with the seller because he claims the unit was sent back in "terrible condition". If that is the case, then someone…

Pros
  • CD & Tape Players
Cons
  • Might skip on some scratched CD's
