Worked Great: Fuel System

I had a snow blower that was leaking gas from the carburetor. It was just old. All seals were bad. I could spend $8 on a carburetor rebuild kit and spend 2 hours taking it apart and putting it back together with new components. Or. I could spend $12 on a brand new carburetor and replace it in 10 minutes. Here's what I did. After installation, the snow thrower immediately caught fire and ran like a dream. Perfect fit for my Craftsman snow blower 536.886121

I decided that the first thing to do was to replace the spark plug, fuel line, carburetor and the gasket that connects the carburetor. I replaced the fuel line and connector as I could get everything from a local big box. It ran smoother but still had freezing issues. I ordered this carburetor and installed it…

First remove the bowl and check the float.

Updated 18/12... I bought three of these carburetors (12/12, 17/2 and 17/9) and they were all installed on my Craftsman 536.886540 5HP snow thrower but mine initial 5-star opinion has not proven itself. Everyone worked satisfactorily one season but was horrible the next, with hard starts and a constant stopping problem until the car reached high temperatures... which is around 20 minutes of running time and lots of choke adjustments and/or restarts. . None of them were branded 'Tecumseh' so the
