Best Automotive Loom Ribbon

This is the same material used in wire weaving mills. I've used this several times in my German cars when rewinding wire harnesses. It looks factory made and will hold up much better than regular 3M Super 88s. I don't see any reason why you could use anything else. It's one of those things I wish I knew before I started using it.

"Electrical tape "? fits Scotch Tape

Building street rods and pre 1960 vehicles always requires rewiring and for me this tape comes as close as possible to the look of the original factory decal. Unlike the original strap, this material stays in place and is more than thick enough. I found that the heat from the engine bay did not "melt" the adhesive from the tape, which is common with old friction tape and particularly shiny black vinyl. Sure, it's a bit pricey, but you almost always get what you pay for.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Matches the Lexus felt strap!

I am adding ambient lighting to my RCF as Lexus decided to remove it for my model year. When splicing the wires, I wanted everything to match the factory wiring harness. I bought this tape. It's much better than regular tape. In my picture I added the wire harness on the right with the white connector. If you didn't know, you would think it was like that from the factory. That's exactly what I'm aiming for. I love it! It seems to stick to itself like OEM felt tape. Fits and looks good! There…

Tesa Tape stops rattle/noise on body

Bought a used 2015 BMW X-5 and heard a rattle from the dual tailgate. The tailgate opens in the middle, half the opening and what breaks open is the window area. The metal part of the stern door has its own handle for lowering the deck. I used Tesa tape to wrap the latch connectors around the body to hook the tailgate panel and then wrapped some tape around the latch connector in the window section where it connects to the panel section. The noise is gone. It seems the only other adjustment…

Clean and reliable tape

As a mobile DJ, I'm constantly looking for ways to clean and streamline my cabling. I used to use masking tape or tape to make my own snakes. A "snake" is a bundle of wires that certain devices (power cords, speaker wires, etc.) require. I would use duct tape to create ONE run of wire instead of two separate runs. The problem was that the electrical and cutting table fell apart leaving dirty stains on very expensive cables. I found myself rewriting them several times a year. Out of frustration,

The best material for the intended purpose.

The second roll I bought! I do a lot of things on the bike and I take off all the hard and soft plastic wire grommets to fix broken wires and wrap them with abrasion resistant fabric, split loom and have used this tape wherever possible to cover the split loom or less wrap. wires. This allows the split loom to retain its flexibility. No sticky mess when warm. It's impossible to separate if it's stuck to itself. In fact, I've found that I use a small fabric ripper and run it right under the…

I'll never dope again with standard electrical tape

TESA tape is the bomb! Very high quality and easy to use. The band is strong but breaks with reasonable force and breaks cleanly without leaving side streaks like some other threaded bands. The adhesive is aggressive but not unpleasant. It securely sticks to wires or a loom, but can be removed and moved if finished in time. Also, if it sticks (inevitably) sticky surface to sticky surface, it can be taken apart and used with relative ease. The rich dark black color and texture of the fabric…

Much more heat resistant than tape. No more sticky mess.

After using this tape for my last head unit install I can't use any more tape. While duct tape can be useful in many automotive applications, I have found specific uses for it such as: B. wrapping wires under the engine bay, it gets sticky very easily and you know you have to untie it. This Tesa tape is very heat resistant (150 C or 302 F) and wraps up very easily without leaving a sticky mess. This tape proved very helpful in wrapping the amp power wire under the engine bay as I routed it from

Gorgeous Revain Fast Tape

This is an excellent, high quality tape for wrapping wire harnesses and wires INSIDE the car, not the engine compartment. The use in the engine compartment for winding cable harnesses contradicts the main application specified by the manufacturers. This tape is specifically designed for use INSIDE the passenger compartment to provide flexibility and sound deadening. For example, wrapping wires and wire harnesses in contact with metal or plastic objects can cause rattling. This tape uses a…
