This is a great starter kit and is relatively inexpensive. I've had a rooster and a snail in my aquarium for a few months now (but the snail was a recent addition). This is a nice device and easy to set up. But there are a few things that are alarming about this device: - There is a large hole on the front of the lid that cannot be closed. So you'll need something to cover it if you have a fish that might even just jump out. It's convenient for feeding, although I wish it had a resealable lid. - Warning: The pump sucks quite well and is set too high. I've had the tank for about 48 hours. My little Betta loves it! Good size but takes up space. Lots of space for decoration inside. I was wary of the filter at first because my fish is very small and the current throws it up a bit but it seems that you get used to it and the filter makes a big difference so I think it's probably worth it.
