Description of 🌡️ Wintact Infrared Thermometer Cooking Digital Temperature Gun -58℉-752℉(-50℃-380℃) with Max-Min Measure (Not for People) - Backlit Digital Infrared Thermometer Ideal for Kitchen and Cooking

The LCD screen is backlit, °C/°F setting for more convenient for your testing, also has an auto-off function and low battery indicator to extend the battery life. (battery included). D : S= 12 : 1, means the Distance to the Spot Size of the unit is 12 : 1. As the Distance(D) from the target surface increases, the spot size of the area measured(S) by the unit becomes larger. So in order to get more accurate temperature, please pay attention to the Distance to Spot Size, or it will get some error if you neglect this. thermometer collects the infrared radiation energy from surface of the stuff that is focused by red laser, and transfer this information into electric signal via photodetector, then analyze and calculate its temperature. So please keep in mind that what you get is the surface temperature not inside temperature. The product is used for to measure the surface temperature of: Hot water pipes, Hot engine parts, cooking surfaces, hot tubes & Insulation, Electrical connection, ballasts in electric lights. NOTE:Temperature readings from this laser infrared thermometer are inanimate objects.Pls DO NOT USE for humans or animals will not be correct.with FCC, CE,RoHs approved; 2-Year Warranty.

Great for measuring plastisol temperature

I use it to measure the temperature of hot plastic/plastisol when casting fishing bait and it works great. When heating the plastisol you need to prevent the plastic from burning and this is enough to prevent it.

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • protection

So far, so good. in thermometer

Immediately out of the box (after inserting the included batteries), the test results are accurate at room temperature. Reading reviews of some other laser guided IR pyrometers, those using 9 volt batteries seem to have issues. Time will tell how long this tool will last.

  • Everything is fine!

PERFECT for my (non-professional) needs

Bought this heat gun to fix problems with an air conditioner that cuts out from time to time. My main concern was the accuracy of this item before purchasing it, but to my surprise, not only is it very easy to use, but it is also accurate (at least to my knowledge). Very satisfied.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

4 stars for quality. Good buy for what it is.

Works well at 3ft. The range is limited and continues to misread the temperature. I don't trust the first reading, I usually take several . Used to measure the temperature of the kitchen surface on the device. Also used to light up the laser pointer in front of my colleagues. Get less than $12 bang for your buck when you buy on the fly. Pays for itself in one month of use. Need new batteries.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Nothing here

Just point it at my eye

Great for cats. You need to hold it about an inch away from what you want it to read correctly (assuming the reading is actually correct). If you slowly move away from the target and keep the laser on it, the temperature on the screen will change dramatically. boo Booooo, with your shitty junk that cost me about $17! I've been very happy about it. But boo. Why are you doing this to me? Cool surgery you're doing. I'm sure your father will think highly of you. Nobody tests these things! Where was

You get what you pay for

I bought this thermometer to replace another infrared thermometer that used a poorly designed 9 volt battery compartment that eventually lost contact with the wires; this one uses 2 AAA. That's the only reason I bought it. It was inaccurate out of the box and I had to calibrate it. I can't just pull the trigger (like in the previous case) to get a reading. You must pull the trigger and then select "Max" mode to get a one-time reading (e.g. to fry in oil at 350 degrees). I already want to…

Exactly, but the batteries don't last very well.

This is an accurate, inexpensive IR thermometer. I compared it to two other models I own and a FLIR camera and it came within 1/10th of a degree of all the others. My only complaint is the battery door: its inner frame isn't big enough to hold two cameras. AAA batteries are provided. At least one of my batteries needs to be reinserted before each use. Unfortunately, I have seen this on many models with AAA. This can be corrected by adding some hard, non-conductive material; It's just…

Cons

Very useful and cheap for what it does.

Simple but robust non-contact thermometer for home use. Ideal for reptile owners who want to easily know the temperature of every place their turtles are staying. Also ideal for vehicle diagnostics. Heck, even if you use it to check the accuracy of an oven thermostat, you might find that it's off by fifty degrees or more from what you want it to be. The two sensitivity levels relate to materials with different emissivities. Compared to other models with a similar look, this one costs a little…

Good product very useful in my kitchen

Before I sold my plastic extrusion business we used a pyrometer to measure extrusion equipment. I believe it cost around $250, but it was more accurate and could work from several feet away. For less than $20, this smaller instrument is perfect for measuring the temperature of my pots and pans before adding food. This takes the guesswork out of whether the temperatures are right. In my kitchen, 325 works well for American-style bacon and scrambled eggs. 300 works best for softer French…
