Inaccurate: thermometers and timers

After my husband complained that he never grills meat, I decided to check the accuracy of this thermometer. It shows boiling water at 210 and ice water at 36. This is consistent, ran three different tests. Not happy because I do a lot of baking and candy making for the holidays and I need something precise. Will contact ThermoPro to see if it can be calibrated, if not then I've lost over $50. Also, the magnet on the back isn't strong enough to stay on my fridge or oven door, so it has to be…

Raise the bar for instant-read thermometers at a great price!

In the TP620, Thermopro has introduced the speed of a thermocouple sensor and combined it with many of the nice features of its earlier TP19H sensor. In addition, they have a stylish look, bright large LED display, nice non-slip handle and a large hole for hanging when not in use. (Of course, with a handy magnet, you don't even need to use this feature!) When you put it all together for a great price, I think you have a new trendsetter in the instant-read thermometer category! And no, I am NOT…

Excellent general purpose thermometer

The ThermaPro TP620 replaces a cheap "probe" bought a few years ago. It's significantly larger than the other (6.5 x 1.5 inches when folded). It was great for making Thanksgiving turkey, but for me its main purpose is to make ice cream and ricotta. It folds up and hangs on the rim of the pot so it doesn't touch the bottom of the pot, and it's sturdy and heavy enough that you can stir ingredients without tipping the thermometer into the mixture. The cheap fold-out version is now difficult to…

  • Very good value for money

Doesn't actually work at all

I have had an instant read thermometer for many years. It finally came out so I researched and bought it. It turns on automatically when opened. This is a good feature. The screen is large so you can easily see the numbers. Here's the problem: Instant reading is a stretch. When I stick the thermometer into the meat, it jumps from 200 to 80 degrees. It takes a few minutes to install, but the best I can get is a 10 degree range. If I want to take a steak off the grill at 135 degrees, I can't know

Pros
  • Waterproof up to IP65: After use, rinse the kitchen thermometer quickly under running water without hesitation; The non-slip handle and sturdy body will prevent and survive any accidents in the kitchen
Cons
  • Large and bulky

In the air at first impression

I accidentally bought this as I wanted a heat treatment but got confused when I started searching. Still, I like the feel of this device, it's easy to read and feels solidly built. It comes with an unnamed universal AAA battery, which I'll be using until it inevitably runs out of power within a short period of time. calibrated." I did both an ice test and a cook test to see where it was out of the box. I read almost 36 and cooked, I had 215 and some changes. One good thing is that it's user…
