Thetford 31705 Aqua Magic Toilet Assembly Review

First use after fitting this part, hooked up to a trailer and the part broke. Cheap low quality. Unfortunately there is no other manufacturer or better quality part available - you will have to replace the part if you need to replace it.

Fixed a leaking toilet in an RV. Installation was very easy. He got some bolts and hoses and that's it. I did not replace the gasket under the toilet because my gasket was still working fine. All in all I found the leak early and replaced the part so I was a happy camper again. I called Thetford direct and quoted the price of the item and it was higher than Amazon after postage.

Our flush valve leaked during our moose hunt. I watched a YouTube video and ordered a new valve while hunting. When I got home I expected to have to lift the toilet off the floor to reinstall the new valve. But to my surprise, I undid a screw, disconnected the lines, unhooked the flushing wire and took out the old one. With the help of a mirror, I installed a new one in 15 minutes without removing the toilet. You will need a very short Phillips screwdriver. It worked great and cost €22!

The valve in the picture is not the one you will receive. It will be the one with the black plumbing fixture that many had trouble with. I think some of the problems are due to over tightening. I drew mine in a little more than my hands and it licked. The second time, just tug firmly on your fingertip and it worked. I call it like a valve cover bolt tightening, most of us are familiar, I probably doubt the original valve is available. I also use a 30lb water pressure reducer, now I feel like it

My motorhome has been flooded a couple of times thanks to Thetford and fortunately it has sea quality soil. I agree with the previous reviewer on the quality and how things have previously served. The valves were brass and everything was non-synthetic, obviously built at the lowest cost. I bought this to replace another one which broke on February 18th 2017 and tonight June 18th 2017 it broke in the exact same place. All reviewers say the same thing about where it falls short. I ordered this valve to replace an original valve that was cracked and leaking. After assembly, it flowed where the fitting was attached to the valve body. So I have to agree with other reviewers the quality is poor but what are our options? Revain was very supportive and sent a replacement. I hope it lasts. This purchase was a replacement for an R Pod toilet model 171. Thetford Aqua Magic broke just above the threaded male end connecting to the water line. The exchange works perfectly. My advice to anyone replacing this unit is to also add a faucet/toilet connection hose (preferably use one with a guaranteed leak-proof connection).
