follow instructions

I have these for my wife's left Cannondale fork. It worked great once I finally followed the instructions. I broke a few of them before reading the instructions.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • concise instructions

Garbage! Low quality. I'm feeling lucky. For us it was a big failure!

Garbage. instructions followed. The coils continued to deteriorate. Then I saw some reviews about cutting the blue part of the tool. Still broken coils. Cheap. I recommend just taking it to a professional or at least spending a little more to get a better quality kit.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Nothing here

There are many better $20 sets

No handle minus one star, notch on plunger too small, metal too soft, threads on it?! Are you claiming it was made in the US but with metals made elsewhere? Minus 2 stars. Here's what I did: I bought a real brand of coil and bought a pusher with a handle. Did the job on the first try. I've done this a few times over the years - a very expensive set so I'm not a total noob.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Not sure

Great tool in Tools & Equipment

I also bought this kit to replace a stock Cannondale Lefty Coil. I have used this tool in conjunction with genuine Cannondale coils which I purchased separately. I figured there might be slight differences as I had previously tried coiled coils with no success (their OD seems larger). tap if your threads are intact. Overall, this tool made the process easier if you use the blue pre-roller properly.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

The Helicoil repair kit worked perfectly on my Cannondale Lefty hub

I just bought a Cannondale with a left damper. When I removed the tire to mount it on my car, I saw that something like a spring was sticking out. I thought nothing of it and threw it in the trunk. Apparently this "spring" was actually a helical coil, which I somehow damaged because there was no way to fully inflate the tire. Of course, no auto parts store has this length, so I did a little research and found kits online that cost around $80-$100, which is absolutely ridiculous for what you…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Minorities

The product is similar to the Helicoil brand which I have used many times. This worked, but I had to lubricate the threads before inserting the threaded spool into the drilled/drilled hole because the friction was too high and it straightened the shank used to screw in the threaded insert. This rendered the first insert unusable because the insert was not yet on the ground. After lubricating the next use it worked perfectly. I had to wash the grease off with brake cleaner after inserting and…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Great tool for metric sockets and sets

I also bought this set to replace the standard Cannondale left-hand hairspring. I have used this tool in conjunction with genuine Cannondale coils which I purchased separately. I figured there might be slight differences as I had previously tried branded helix coils with no success (their OD seems larger). tap if your threads are intact. Overall, this tool made the process easier if you use the blue pre-roller properly.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
