Great damper for the price!

It has been in our 3.4 liter Jeep Comanche for over a year now with no problems. In front of it is a 2-1/4" MagnaFlow universal coil and a 2-1/4" exhaust pipe. The exhaust note is a little raspy, but there's no annoying rumble at any speed. Shorter/bigger tailpipes might not be as quiet, but for what we wanted it's perfect. The welds look solid, and none of the nasty bits have come out and rattled yet. Looks (and sounds) very similar to the Gibson weld muffler on my TJ.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Good but not great

Choose from stainless steel!

Bought 2 of these mufflers for my 2007 Acura MDX a year ago. When I got them new, I cleaned them very well, painted them with black high-temperature paint (1400Β°) and assembled them. Now, a year and 18,000 miles later, these mufflers are rusting quickly, mostly at the welds, look awful and will need to be replaced soon. Spend the extra money now to get the stainless steel equivalent and save on a second installation fee later.

Pros
  • SPECIFICATIONS – Available in a 4" case. x 9.5 inches. oval body and different overall length; 2.25 inch, 2.5 inch. and 3-in. inlet/outlet dimensions; see product specs for more info
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Great buy for the best aftermarket parts

This is a quality part. Pretty much a fake Flowmaster but in a better way. The muffler is well made, heavy construction, welded and sounds great. My setup was on a 4.0 liter Ranger 4x4 and it sounds like a V-8 idling and at low rpm. I'm not going to claim power/mpg, but I tend to think that power should go up with better mileage. And the sound is very good, no hum at highway speeds. If you are considering a muffler at a reasonable price, buy this one. Mark

Pros
  • AGGRESSIVE SOUND -- Dual chamber construction for deep aggressive tone
Cons
  • Some small details

Sounds incredible! for exhaust and emissions

Sounds awesome! Just the right amount of throatiness without being obnoxious like those giant coffee mugs that kids put on. Throttle response is improved, as is mid-to-high traction. Combined with E3 connectors, a K&N air filter, new OEM coils and 8.5mm MSD cables I probably got +10% HP. Even more impressive, my combined mileage went from 19.5mpg to 23.5mpg. This rating will not be updated. The exhaust sounded sweet while the car survived!

Pros
  • DESIGNED TO SERVE -- 100% welded aluminized steel construction reduces corrosion
Cons
  • Some bugs
