Key and lock work as they should

These locks were easy to install. The picture shows the solid metal key I was hoping for. Unfortunately I had metal keys with a plastic cap on the end. Locks work as they should. Simply insert key and lock and remove. And it's easy to insert, unlock and remove the key.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Hard to tell

They lock up. for inside switch

These are Thule locks which means they only protect honest people. When someone really needs your stuff and a shelf, they get it. At least it can slow them down and keep sticky fingers at bay. Works well with my existing keys. Contact the seller and let them know what locks you need so you can find the right hardware.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Doubtful

Good 4 cylinder kit for Thule products.

I used them to attach keys to a Thule bike rack and a Thule Force XL carrier. Show me how it works. But it turned out that installing a cylinder on a bike rack was very easy. I give it 5 stars but wish it was easier to install on the cargo box. They are well packaged in a metal tin which is where I keep my old cylinders now.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

We bought these for the same reason everyone else did - to secure the trunk of the car and deter theft. Unfortunately, the Hull-a-Port mounting mechanism is just a square plastic plug that hides the hex screw that secures the mechanism. A butter knife will rip it off even with a lock in place, so it's basically a pretty expensive non-holding tool.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Slightly torn

dissatisfied good for the interior

complete rubbish. Thule used to be the best in the business. Buy something else now. I have had a bike trailer for many years. I had to constantly change locks due to poor quality. Now this time I change the locks and they don't even work. I'm bored of this. Throw that rack in the trash and buy Kuat. Thule support is terrible. I am getting rid of all my Thule products once and for all. Thanks for the headache Thule.

Pros
  • handy thing
Cons
  • not sure

Difficult to use and too expensive even if you buy four

Very high price for four basic lock cylinders, two keys and a plug. The Thule Metai container they come in was a nice touch, but it didn't justify the high price. The locks fit into the Thule plastic cover supplied with the posts. I found that I had to install and reinstall the plastic cover several times before the lock would engage properly. To be honest if I could do it again I wouldn't use locks. I'm not sure if they actually prevent or even reduce the risk of rack theft.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • No

Water leak: spare parts

UPDATE after several years of installation: One of the main problems with it. Water leakage from the driver's door and passenger's door during heavy rain or a car wash. Car Mk6 (2015) VW GTI/Golf. The water flows exactly where the legs were installed (between the door and the roof). Included in the box are 4 rubber pads/seals which should help improve the seal on some cars but leaked water whether used or not. I checked the install 3 times and everything was tight and according to the manual…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Communication with the seller
