This lock is only secure if the rack you are using it in has a sufficiently secure locking mechanism.
We bought these for the same reason everyone else did - to secure the trunk of the car and deter theft. Unfortunately, the Hull-a-Port mounting mechanism is just a square plastic plug that hides the hex screw that secures the mechanism. A butter knife will rip it off even with a lock in place, so it's basically a pretty expensive non-holding tool.
