Can be stolen from a car

Awesome! Perfect for my surfski, 9ft longboard, 11ft rescue surfboard. It didn't happen, but I didn't realize how easy it was for someone to come and take her.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Crumpled

Holds our kayaks with our tall camper cap

These kayak holders solved a very specific problem we had when assembling our 17ft sea kayaks - height difference between our camper cap and our pickup. truck cab. By mounting all four of these guys on the cockpit and then using the padded bar in the back, we were able to load the kayaks almost flat.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons

Modification may be required to fit Aerobar

Bolts designed to mount to Thule Aerobar were 1/8" to 1/4" wider than the T-rail and had to be modified to fit to fit in a T-track. All other Thule products I've bought work great, but this was a test of patience. Solid gear, just inaccurately figured out the mounting bolt parts.

They just stick out too far to stay up when not in use (just look silly). In fact, Thule's manual also says "delete when not in use" (laughs, seriously?). Still, it also hints at the mystery of the bonded strip of rubber that fills the "track" in the Aeroblade bars (although they also come with hardware to fit…

Pros
  • Stand for kayaks, canoes and SUPs
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Finally! Great rooftop transport system that fits in the trunk of my car.

A few years ago we first moved our 84lb 14ft tandem kayak; it was on two blocks of foam on the roof, tied together with straps. Needless to say he didn't handle the boat very well and almost got into an accident when we had to pull over quickly on the road. Safe and durable transportation is clearly key to getting the most out of your boat. enter Tula. Our car is a Toyota Highlander with factory wing shaped trunk bars. I had a lot of trouble finding a kayak roof system that didn't require a…
