The dryer vent was very narrow so I bought this hoping it would prevent me from fumbling with a screwdriver when hanging over the dryer. It would be great if the thumbscrew came out of the clamp right away. I thought. OK. Damn. Now I'm going to use a screwdriver. Not correct. There is no standard screw or nut to secure after the thumbscrew has loosened. Good idea. Bad performance. Probably made in China.

I use this product a little differently. I collect rainwater in a barrel and use a gutter piece that I insert into a cutout in a regular gutter to direct the rainwater into the barrel. When the keg is full I remove the bypass section leaving a hole in my normal gutter. I then use a piece of rubber material to cover the hole and I use thumb clamps to hold it in place. It works great and the easily adjustable thumb clips make it quick and easy.

The clamps themselves are nice metal to check. Plastic "lamb" trash. It will come loose and if you can force it to stay it will slip off when you try to tighten the screw. The screw doesn't have a slot or appears to be a standard size, so you can't use a screwdriver or socket wrench when the thumbscrew finally gives out. Don't waste money - buy one that fits your outlet and/or your standard screwdriver and save half the money and a lot of frustration.

The description says "Thumb screw turns easily." This would be the opposite of the 2 I received, it would be more accurate to say "Very hard, the knurled screw to rotate". I tried the first one on a 4 inch dehumidifier vent tube and after a few turns it became hard to turn. It hasn't even been tightened to the pipe yet. If the tumble dryer's metal exhaust pipe is too short, or if the metal exhaust pipe on the wall is too short, it can also be very difficult to wrap/tighten the exhaust hose around the metal exhaust pipe.
